Current mood:  happy
Last Saturday, Ernie and I spent most of the day running errands together.  We looked for new work boots for Ernie (the most difficult task of the day).  We ate lunch.  I left Barnes & Noble emptyhanded (shocker!).  We went home.  We went to another place to look for work boots and found a pair.  We went to Lowe's and bought...uh...whatever it was we bought (that's not very exciting).  We ate dinner.  We went home.

Okay, actually, before going home, we had stopped to see if the Wal-Mart near Lowe's and the diner had any Wiis in stock.  They did earlier in the week.  Oh, how I wanted a Wii.  Not that I was going to buy one even if they did have them, of course.  I couldn't spend the money, of course.  But we could look.  They didn't have any though.  I was more bummed out than I should have been, considering I said I would/could not purchase one.

I have wanted a Wii since they came out.  I was comforted by the fact that they were hard to find.  Plus, Ernie seemed to express zero interest in owning one.  Well, after seeing his nieces play with the one they received this past Christmas, he started to think it would be fun to have one.  Pair that with the fact that they are more readily available now, and I have really been wanting one.

On Sunday, Ernie met one of his friends for breakfast and to go out to a train show.  I got beef stew going in the crockpot in the morning, and then I cleaned the house.  Then I called the Gamestop out at the mall to see if they had Wiis.  They did.  Then I drove out to the mall and bought one. Really!  I'm still super excited about that.   Ernie and I have been having a total blast with it.  I love our Wii!

I went to the dentist for a cleaning on Monday.  I need two fillings.  Man...I don't think I've needed fillings since I was a kid.  They are both really small, but it's not like they are going to get any better (they surely would just get worse), so I'm going to get them taken care of next month.  Bummer.

Tuesday morning was rough.  On my way to work, I kinda drove off the road slightly...enough to get stuck in the snow.  How far had I gotten on my drive to work?  Well...my car was stuck in front of my next door neighbor's house.  How freaking embarrassing.  I still don't know how I managed to pull that one off.  No, I was not on my phone.  No, I was not fiddling with my iPod or changing CDs or radio stations.  No, I hadn't tried to drive with my windshield all frosted over.  I was focused, and I had a clear view of the road.  I really have no logical explanation.  I just goofed.  Ernie was already off to work, so I was going to be stuck waiting until he could come back to help me.   Thankfully, one of my neighbor's came to my aid.  Eventually, she was able to get me back on my way.  She pretty much got one of the biggest hugs I could possibly give.  I went to her house later that day with a thank you gift.  Awesome neighbor!

Tuesday was also my mom's birthday, which I temporarily forgot when I placed my teary call to her while I was still stuck in the snow.  Oops.  I called her later to give her proper birthday wishes.  And, yes, I had sent her a card, of course!

Today, I got five CDs in the mail through Ernie's BMG membership.  Yeah, three of them are greatest hits CDs.  Quiet, hipsters.  I don't care.

It was a banner day for mail, actually.  Why?  Because I also received my autographed copies of Infinity Blues and Sad American Mythology.  Those are the books by Ryan Adams, for those who aren't in the Ryan loop.

I also pre-ordered the box set for U2's new album that is coming out in March.  CD, DVD, book, and poster.

Told ya I love buying stuff!  Uh...I think it's time to back off a bit now though.

I'll cap off this entry by mentioning that our yellow lab Chewie will be celebrating her birthday tomorrow.  Okay...we'll be celebrating her birthday.  She's going to be five years old!  Time sure flies, eh?
