Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there…to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be but, when you lock eyes with them, you know that every moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair but, upon reflection, you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, will power or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, Injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul.

Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. Safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless. The people you meet affect your life.

The successes and downfalls that you experience can create who you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.
If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to.

If someone loves you, love them back, unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high.

Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you.

You can make anything you wish of your life.

Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets.

And if you love someone tell them, for you never know what tomorrow may have in store.

Learn a lesson in life each day that you live!

Today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday...

Was it worth it?

After reading what you've wrote I am honestly at a loss for words at just how beautiful this post was, it’s sincerity hold’s so much truth to it that people of all walks of life can relate.

I belive that the things that happen to us all in this life happen for a reason, and because of this I hold no regrates to the decisions I make in life, no matter how much I may dislike the actions I may have taken at times or the turnout of events, because it’s better to know that you’ve lost than always wondering of the “What if?”

I JUST BROKE IT OFF WITH THIS GUY I WAS SEEING FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS AND I KEPT ASKING MYSELF, WHAT LESSON DID I HAVE TO LEARN OR WHY IT HAPPENED. THEN I REALIZED NO MATTER WHAT THE REASON MAY BE OR WHY...I HAD NO REGRETS. AND I WAS SURE OF WHAT I NEEDED TO DO.

IT COMES DOWN TO...IT WAS WORTH IT.

AM I BETTER BECAUSE OF IT? ABSOLUTELY EVEN THOUGH I WAS THE ONE WHO ENDED THE RELATIONSHIP.

Sorry to hear about that, but like you said, life is a series of learning experiences, and though things didn’t last between you and this guy, as long as you hold no regrets to your decisions and actions than you can proudly hold your head up high and move forward.

BTW; was I really the first to leave a comment in your blog for a change? Wow, never thought this would ever come. LOL!

Deeply profound! But I actually knew this the day that I first read your blogs, way back in the day!  Somtimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees in this plane of existance. Your deep introspection and honesty about yourself has allowed your eyes to open and see more deeply than "the average bear"! Such insight is gained through miles of internal pain, somtimes self inflicted. People discuss the 12th step, agnostics decry it, but that zone of internal peace and tranquility does indeed make it all worth it! Peace Out Lady M, but I think that now the "peace" part is somewhat redundant! :)

We often learn the most valuable life lessons too late.
I have come close to death more times than I can count, really pretty sad when you are not sure if it is 9, 10, or whatever.
I was given 6 months to live at the age of 16; I am 51 now.

We tend to get too focused on ourselves and slowly close the borders of the world around us.
One of

My favorite quotations comes from Einstein: A truly wise man know the vastness of his own ignorance and the true value of his insignificance to the universe."
Of course I always add " Each of us is a one=of=a=kind creation in the eyes of God; priceless and irreplaceable.

I enjoyed reading your posting.
Sometimes we see a simple stroke without being able to picture the final painting.
Sometimes we are the brush; sometimes we are indeed the paint.

Well said.

Isn't everyday like a little life?  Birth when you wake up, death when you go to sleep.....what did I do with my day? Can I look back and feel like I made it everything it could be?

I've been thinking more along those lines lately, it's helped my attitude a bit!

Always good to see you show up once in a while, hope all is well.

Getting old isn't a bad thing
It REALLY beats the alternative

Life is really all about perspective

In 2000 they had to remove my thyroid, it was one of those near death things
Each morning I wake up and take a pill
Without it, I will die
Every night my body starts to shut down
Every morning I wake up cold

Each day is a gift
I die each night
Spend the night dreaming of having just one more day to change the world
Each morning I awake is really a dream that comes true

Keep sharing your words my dear
The world doesn't realize how badly it needs poets and writers to exist

"Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there…to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become."

I as well believe that people come and people go, but the ones that stay, the ones that you hold some form of line with are ment to be there, and will help you along the way, not ness in a good way emotionally, or physically, but spiritually guide you to being a better person.

"Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, Injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul."

We can sit down and talk for hours about the pain people go thru on a day to day basis, you can talk to people about the hurt others have put on them, and you can talk to people about the dark, or missing feeling, maybe a num one in their heart of hearts, but in time the greatest gift that can be given is the one to yourself when you pick yourself up off the floor, dust yourself off and get back to living. This quote of yours is one powerful one chelle.

You say that the people that come into your life will effect you in a profound way, and I have to believe this, but I feel I must add to it, for myself, because Even tho you have entered into my life a couple years ago, it isn't only you that has profoundly effected me, but the life you have lived, and the advice you gave, and the people you inspire with what you write.

Life is Living

Thank you!

Great advice!  I have had my share of ups and downs but even when I have to part ways with someone I was once close to it helps to know that a chapter of my life is over and I enjoyed it while it was happening.  Regardless of the end result, it is the journey that truly matters.

Wow, you're so fiery. Insightful and memorable.
This is one of the best blogs I've read in awhile.
Very inspirational
Just what I needed to hear. Insight you already know is best taken from somebody else.

"Today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday... Was it worth it?"
It's so true to think about.

That's why I live by the saying of, "Cherish yesterday, enjoy today, & pursue tomorrow"

I have not logged on in quite a while and tonight I am sitting here home alone having a melancholy, okay depressed, night and I found myself logging on to myspace and checking my favorite blogs, and lo and behold you have posted this. This is what I needed to read tonight. I believe in fate, karma, what ever you would like to call it, and this is what I needed.

Was it worth it? Once it was, yes, absolutely! Is it worth it now? I don't know.

You have given me something to think about. Thank you!
