I first heard of
Daniel Wang while dining at
Ping Pong, a stylish pan-Asian restaurant in Chicago's boystown. A gay ghetto that's barely hanging onto any sense of reality beyond low rise pants and weather-inappropriate tanks, there are sometimes signs of life. The annual Halloween Parade, Disco Night at Berlin and the trolls at the Lucky Horseshoe still make things interesting over there, and there are times when it seems like the only place to eat is Ping Pong. Their original recipe 99 cent Hot n' Sour soup, stark white w/taxidermy decor and thump-a-bump-bump atmosphere make the dining experience comically pretentious, and it's always worth the money. They graciously donated food for Queerfest Midwest and the owner is a hottie sweetheart, if a little shy. Head on over and tell Henry that Think Pink said hi.
