A few years ago I started a show called the Red Eye Cafe. Nothing earth-shattering, just something for those of us who wanted something easy going on the ears, something to kick back to, something to..umm..lets say escape reality with. You can call it electronica, chill out, downtempo, pot rock, ambient, etc...etc..etc..doesnt matter. Its not metal, its not country, its not rap.
Now dont get me wrong, its no show thats worth of awards, recognition or even a sandwich. But it was something I loved and took a bit of pride in doing. The bad news...it ended. Due to many various things...which I wont go into...dont want the wafflehouse warrior to rip off any more telethons, I had to stop the show.
The good news...its back! And on Cygnus radio. Cygnus didnt need my show, but I needed them. See...I have circumstances going on in my family. (Mother has 6 mos to live from cancer, and my pop is starting to get alzhiemers). And man, it brings you down. Not down, like if you are behind on bills. Or down like if you just got dumped by your significant other...I mean down...real down. Swannie graciously offered a slot to me on her station, Cygnus Radio, awhile back, and honestly, my mind and heart wouldnt have been in it at the time, so I passed on it. However, the offer was made again a few days ago, and I realized I needed that escape again. I needed to break out of this cocoon I have been lost in, and jumped at the chance.
So I look forward to providing you with something to end your weekend off with. 8pm-10pm on Sundays, come fire it up at the Red Eye cafe featuring some of the best independent artists that the internet and Creative Commons has to offer. So I welcome you to join me...in fact, I implore you to join me again.

Old friends pass away, new friends appear. It is just like the days. An old day passes, a new day arrives. The important thing is to make it meaningful: a meaningful friend - or a meaningful day. - His holiness the Dalai Lama
