This is babies third blog.! I'm coming up to Northern California this week. As most of you know I've mainly performed in Los Angeles for many years now. But on the right occasion someone makes an attractive offer. In this case I got a call from Of Montreal to play with them on friday night in Oakland at the fox theatre, for me that is an easy yes, as they are one of my favorites. For any of you who haven't checked them out already do for your own sake and for the sake of all man kind. Since I have so much crap that I use in my shows I figured I should take advantage of the fact that I was in San Francisco to play another gig since Bret has to drag all of it up there anyway. He is here with me now (perhaps you recognize him from his typing). The people at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco were kind enough to give me a room to play in this saturday (the scandinavian room) which I am desperately hoping has a distinctly scandinavian feel. The show is at 8pm and its 15 bucks. This will be a full length show so we are bringing a full compliment of chamberlains, celestes, and some video stuff I have been messing with as of late. Since I have never played shows in San Francisco they were also kind enough to allow for a second show if the first one sells out, so I will keep you posted In the coming days through the use of late 20th century technology (via Bret) Most of all, Im just really looking forward to it, Jon (via Bret). third blog.! i finally get to see jon brion aka "the one man band" preform live right in front of my eyes ( i'm sure hoping for you to preform a few numbers from the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind soundtrack) I sure hope you sell out, so you can add another show, but then again even if you don't sell out sat's show know that there are many san franies who want to see you play!

Look Up

I'm really excited for this... I bought tickets immediately without realizing I had work... But whatever, work can survive a day without me...

Hey Bret! (and Jon!)
Can you put in a request for 'Gotta Start Somewhere'? Seen him a few dozen times, never heard him play that one! Really excited for all the weekend shows, don't live in LA anymore so this is quite a feast.
Take care,
d
