just thought I'd share a few highlights from my adventures as of late :)
Saturday, May 23rd:
After detouring off the highway at almost every exit from MA to CT, and yard-sale-ing...
(I got some antique tambourines, a ViewMaster, some California Raisins, Smurfs, & ET PVC Figures, for gifts, Beasley even got a stuffed animal)
@the Blacksheep Ranch in Clinton, CT, my dog Beasley took full liberty of the wide open field and generous snacking/sharing kids...and basically owned the place within just a short amount of time. Since he goes where I go, as soon as I was on stage, there he was, right by my side, laying on my cords and foot tuner...
Check out my *pictures* section to see some shots of this dream realized for me- to have Beasley on stage while I performed! ... he's been coming to shows more than more...after-all he IS my sidekick...(and best friend) I'm determined to keep taking him on tour!
The rain held off for the show, and Andrew and Suzane Wallach & friends were AMAZINGLY hospitable, took tons of pictures, and fed all of us lots of taste-y snacks. I look forward to returning to this beautiful piece of earth and all that it holds...
Wednesday, May 28th:
@the Barley Pub in Dover, NH, Beasley also came along again, and was allowed inside! (which was unbelievable)... and he again owned the bar in seconds. He met a Blue Heeler, and they appropriately sniffed each other's you-know-whats...
The crowd was wonderful and I even got to try out a new song I'd written 2 days before, called, 'Nigh, Nigh.' (Not Neigh, Neigh)
I also re-introduced an older tune that I hadn't played in a while called, 'Revelry of Heart (Rebel)' which I sing & play on my djembe. Come to my next show near you, and I promise to play both for you:)
This was a truly magical night, and it was a WEDNESDAY!
Thursday, May 29th:
I hadn't slept very much the night prior, but down to NYC I went, losing on a couple of scratch tickets on the way...
I ate sushi and geeked out at Slurp!, made friends with a couple kind souls in Guitar Man, and then carried my gear in the rain to the the Rockwood Music Hall.
It was packed to the gills and I sat with all my gear in about 1' of space before making it up to the stage! New York City ... the big city. I have so much to say you, NYC, and I'm writing it all into a song, so that's all I'll say for now. And, that I met some amazing people, and slept just 2 hours that night...
Saturday, May 30th:
Jeanie Johnston' Pub
