I just thought that I might share with you guys what some of the songs on my page are about. As some of you might have recently noticed, I have added the lyrics to the songs on my page. If you hadn't noticed or don't care, then that's cool too.

" A Road Out of Friends" was written when I was around 18 or 19 but I didn't actually record until around 6 or 7 years after (around 2001). I decided to put it up on my page because I knew there were some of you who might not have ever heard it, and it's always nice to post something new. It was written about missing those friends that we all had in high school  or other places, and often wondered what they were up to, and if there life had gone as planned.

"There Goes My Love" was written by myself and Andrew Vollmer, "The Australian," about all the games that you end up finding yourself playing in relationships. You're either playing the game on someone, or that someone is playing it on you. I guess when you find that special someone, there won't be any need for any games. We co-wrote and recorded it last year (2006).

"Do It Right" was written around 2003, but recorded around 2004. I did this particular session with Gabriel Marshall, formerly of Lemma. I was inspired by someone that was going through relationship problems. It made me think of how you only have one life to make things work. It's kind of ironic how things work out, because shortly after I started having relationship problems of my own and ended up getting a divorce, which leads me to the next song.

" Goodnight" was recorded about two months after "Do It Right", at the same studio, and also with Gabriel Marshall. It was written about my ex-wife, and  me trying to figure out within my soul if we had made the right decision on getting a divorce.Even though there have been really hard times, I still consider her a dear friend. Writing a song like "Goodnight" for me was very theraputic, but a song like it was so personal, I almost didn't want to share it and have my emotions out there for all to see. I think that there are plenty of people who can identify with it, and I just hope it gives them a sense of hope, that even through these hard times, they will find love again. It remains one of my most personal songs to date. There are plenty of songs that I've written that are completely fictional, but I find when I write from the heart, then others can identify with it most.
