Ok people. I know times are changing, we're texting, microwaving, channel surfing, damn near teleporting, and we all have the attention spans of goldfish, but seriously...has it come to this? EMAIL BREAKUPS???
Breakups/disses/lock offs are never plesant for either party, regardless of the delivery. But....big but here...there is something to be said for having so little compassion that you would even consider TYPING out your "feelings" (i have to question the soul of someone who does this, let alone if they have actual feelings/emotions/fleshandbone vs metalandbolts) hitting send, and than thinking to yourself " yea, that was the best way i could have handled it. he/she will be fine".
We don't talk anymore, we text,MSN, or chat. Who just drops by to visit b/c they were in the neighbourhood? When was the last time you recieved a hand written anything in the mail? (oh, WRITING...unfamiliar huh? ok...when you use the ancient tool called a PEN, blue ink comes out of it...you know what, this mite take awhile.).
It reminds me of what Don Chedles character in the movie CRASH was speaking about. How we are all just buzzing around in our little bubbles, with our own problems consuming us, wondering about Brad and Angelina instead of Darfur and global warming. not touching (germs), not speaking (political correctness) and its not until planes slam into buildings, or a hiccup from the ocean takes out 250 000 lives that we realize that we're all connected, floatin around on this big, bitchin, blue ball.
connect with those in your life. remind yourself why they are there in the first place, or why they've been there so long. have the balls to SAY the important things to someone. "i love you" "i miss you" or the always dreaded "this is too complicated" so that at least the other party knows that at the very least there was a connection in the first place. you cared just enuff to at least TELL me. Dont be so out of touch that you aren't feeling anymore. because really, once that stops, what do you have?
