Current mood:  jubilant
That's right The Strange Tones were just inducted into the Cascade Blues Association Hall of Fame. The band won their third Muddy Award in a row for "Best Contemporary Act" (2005,2006 and 2007) earlier this month which earned The Strange Tones this very special honor. It is very rare for a band to make the Hall of Fame and it is primarily filled with individual performers. The members of the Blues Association vote for who is nominated and who is awarded the coveted Muddy award and The Strange Tones and The Insominacs were both honored this year. The Cascade Blues Association is one of the largest and most viable blues societies in the country. Portland is a thriving city when it comes to blues music. Multiple venues throughout the city make it possible to catch live blues seven nights a week, 365 days a year. There is a rich wealth of talent in the city as well, world-class performers have lived here for many years and still more continue to relocate to the city every year. And somehow Portland's own "Crime-A-Billy" band is now in the Hall of Fame!! The band sends their thanks to the CBA and it's membership for this honor.

The Strange Tones were also nomiated in other areas: Suburban Slim for both Best Male Vocal, Best Electric Guitar (which he won in 2005 and 2006) and JD Huge for Best Drums.
