So last week I decided to go a on diet. Well, I've been contemplating this for about a month, but just never got around to it and then my friend Marci was going on and on about this whole fitness kick thing she's been having so I thought after I have fully gorged memorial day weekend I well do it. So Marci's thing is working out in the morning, "I swear, it will give you more energy throughout the day."

:::make face::: I'm skeptical. I'm not a morning person. I hate mornings. I worked at a job for three years where I woke up every day at 6am and every single day for three years I had to snooze my alarm at least five times and then slowly and painfully dragged myself out of bed.

I still do, but not as bad since I no longer have to wake up so early. So last night I said to myself, I'm gonna wake up at 8, run a mile or two take shower, have some coffee and be just in time to leave for work.

...and this morning. I woke up at 6:30am to pee. Thought....hmmm...this is good I'm early.....Climbed back into bed didn't look at my alarm again unitl 8:30am and shrugged. I guess the running isn't gonna happen and went back to sleep.

Luckily I woke up around 9:05 make some coffee with some vanilla nut creamer and edited some photos instead.

I texted Marci, tried to run this morning. Couldn't get out of bed so I ran in my sleep instead.

She said, good luck with that.

I said, well, I didn't lose any weight, but I'm well rested.

I took a yogurt to work with me. So that gave me something to play with until break time in which I decided to go to starbucks. I LOVE COFFEE! I can go every crazy diet imaginable, but I will never cut out coffee. I would just die!

"I will have a ICED VENTI (YIKES!) MOCHA (Goodbye diet, maybe tomorrow) NONFAT  NO WHIP (Whew! I saved myself, there is still hope.)"

So then after work I bought some diet pills.....stop looking at me like that....don't judge me. I have no will power. I need them.....really....

By the time I came home at 5pm I was so hungry I "snacked" on some turkey, chicken nuggets (breaded chicken doesn't count in my diet book apparently), and an orange before my dinner of a salmon with some garlic butter lemon and soy sause....and the whole time I thought about pasta.

After dinner I sorta sat around on my couch and watch tv for a couple of hours, including the hills....and other various shows until I finally I got my ass up and took out my running shoes.

I ran for about 1/2 a mile and took an intermission to take a poop and then ran another 1 and 1/2 miles. I don't even know how I run 2 miles, since the whole time (even though the tv was on with a sorta interesting show) I was thinking just one more minute on this speed time....okay 30 seconds...okay ten seconds....and that went around in a full circle until I reached 2 miles.

After that I jumped roped, did a small amount of crunchies, some more jump rope....and now I'm sitting here thinking about something to snack on...chips perhaps...I love chips......I'm hopeless I tell you.

Dieting's overrated.
Running is good, however.

depends how you look at it. if you are trying to maintain your weight than dieting is not for you. If you are trying to lose weight than you do need to limit what you eat. Everyone says dieting is overrated until they are fat.

Albert, simply put

I'm sticking with my walking, as begrudging as it makes me, and I've switched to Ice Teas at Starbucks.  Who says you can't be a cake and eat it too?... ;)

I walk all the time cuz I have dogs. And I walk like at least a mile or two each time. For some reason running two miles just seems worse.

Hey Tammy! I will never give up chips. Just limit yourself to a handful to satiete your need for it. And give up something else, like soda or ice cream. Oh and all of those Starbucks drinks are loaded with sugar.... Good luck! My diet starts next week!

Get ulcers...thats what I did. Apparently they can make you loose anywhere from 10 to 30 pounds in a month.
That coffee should get you there. JK!!!

And being skinny doesn't mean you are in shape. I can't run a mile in under 20 minutes. Much less even run a block. I'm in horrible shape for being small.

I rather be 20-30 pounds heavier and be fit.

Try not to think of it as a "diet" but rather healthier lifestyle changes.  I actually like brocoli now when I used to hate it.  However, I'm pretty sure I will never like cauliflower.  Good luck!
