Nice List.
Aretha -just sends me. *Ever heard Sweet Honey in the Rock's 'Wade In The Water'? another seriously deep experience: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1-Bksnqh_4

Always liked Roberta Flack's version of Suzanne. I love this Nina Simone post- my 1st listen.

Fifth Dimension is a favourite since childhood in Chicago- Stoned Soul Picnic always takes me back to "the point" lakefront in Hyde Park- blankets, hippies, bigass afro's, smell of weed...Great Memory! TX
btw: you said Stone- isn't it STONED? lol!

and Tim Hardin- Dang! and it does have a subway feel...I love this about musicians, we can depend on you all for these lists because you find all the Best Music.
Chris Whitley- I'm definitely buying this. Jimi Lives Forever and Whitley's voice is wonderful.
I could blab about your entire list....all really good for my ears.

Then there's this phenomenal man named Amos Lee and I listen to his music nearly everyday (and sell it too, at a gallery). He's aligned with all of these incredible musical masters and just blows my mind (and everyone else's). Aren't we lucky to be on the planet at the same time!! I paint while listening to him and have these great Soul Journeys. Then I put on some trippy guitar magicians and then back to Amos and so forth...

I really relish the moments that Myspace/Youtube notifies my box with a new Amos Lee post

here's one of my expressions of the Divine Soul- hope the image isn't too big, hmmm
