"Linear Abandon" Featuring Jesse Reno, Keith Shore and Marco Zamora
A Group Show in the Upper Level Gallery

Jesse Reno
Portland-based fine artist Jesse Reno will be exhibiting a new series of paintings. He has previously showcased his work at a variety of places including BLK/MRKT Gallery, Pi Art Gallery, Tattoo Culture, and Local 35. His uncontained style and organic technique is made up of quick expressed lines, smears of vibrant colors, and layer after layer of changing ideas and shapes.

According to Reno, "My art is a product of pure necessity. With no formal education I draw my inspiration from the primitive ancient cultures of Africa and South America, as well as modern pop culture."

Keith Shore
Painter Keith Shore resides in Lambertville, NJ. His FIFTY24SF exhibit will include a series of new drawings and paintings.

Shore's work has been featured at Robert Berman Gallery, Eleanor Harwood Gallery, The Lab 101 Gallery and Bucheon Gallery, and he has been published in Dwell, Giant Robot, BUST, McSweeney's and The New York Times.

Shore's humorous and honest style made him the perfect fit as the illustrator for Marc Ecko's monthly columns in his magazine Complex, which eventually led to his collaboration with Ecko on two different clothing projects. As for future projects, Shore will have a solo show at Krets Gallery in Malmo, Sweden in September. In addition, the upcoming feature film "The Dream of the Romans" starring Jeff Daniels will feature Shore's artwork in Daniels' character's apartment.

Marco Zamora
Pomona, California native Marco Zamora is a painter and illustrator that graduated from the California Institute of the Arts, with a Bachelor of Fine Art. His new work addresses the study of manual labor and lifestyle.

Zamora describes his new body of work stating, "My work has grown in the sense that I have been experimenting with less color and line and more black and white washes creating tone and depth. The pieces will be on a smaller scale forming a collage of work on wood panels, focusing on people in their work environment. My work explores urban/suburban life."

Combining the use of paintbrush and pen, Zamora develops imagery about the urban landscape and the people that inhabit it. Producing a richly complex and experimental image, Zamora goes into a neighborhood and shoots a spot, re-contextualizing and making a collage of figures to create each painting's identity. City life, his culture, color/scale experimentation, and the working class have greatly influenced his artwork.

Splitting his time between painting and apparel design, Zamora's recent work can be seen in a variety of Van's ads and collaboration projects as well as galleries up and down the West Coast including the SCA Project Gallery, Riverside Metropolitan Museum and BLVD Gallery.
