Dear Fans of Chasing Victory,
We are aware that a lot of you keep up with us and have been wondering what has been going on with the band. We do read your messages asking "why arent you guys on tour?". We also appreciate all the messages and comments about our music and how it has impacted you. We never would have imagined four years ago that we would have even made it to the level that we have. It is all because of you reading this and the countless others who have supported us through the years.
I am not going to drag this out. I will get straight to the point and then try to explain to the best of my ability. Chasing Victory has broken up.
El Paso, May 2007 - We were sitting in our van discussing our goals as a band. Tired, hot, and burned out, we took a look at everything that was going on with us. We had just completed one of the most fun tours we had ever been on. We were on tour with two bands that we go way back with and have developed lifelong friendships with. Our equipment was finally at a point where we actually sounded decent from stage. We had a brand new album out that we were supporting. Everything should be just fine right? Well, the more we talked, the more it seemed that there was this unspoken tension amongst us. Not the type where someone is mad with someone else, but more of an uneasy feeling. Deep down, we had all lost our passion. Someone somewhere along the line just finally spoke up about this feeling that we all shared. Everyone quickly agreed. It seemed so abrupt, so non thought out that we did not know what was happening. Ultimately, it was there that we decided that we wanted to do something else with our lives.
That is the reason. We all wanted something else. A career change if you will. We love our music. We love each other. We love playing shows. It was never about money. We never made any, so we definately weren't driven by it. Just like any other band break up, there were several other small contributing factors that brought us to this decision, so please do not think that we were acting "spoiled". The last thing we would ever want to do is let any of you down. I feel that that is inevitable though. So i appologize to anyone who will be upset with us. Trust me, we were upset too. If you have been to one of our shows, own any of our records, have personal friendships with us, or have any fond memories tied to the band Chasing Victory, please remember us by those and not our early departure from the music business. We love you all very much.
Chasing victory (Adam, Michael, Clutch, Jeremy, and Chris)
