Current mood: ashamed
Dear friends and superbs, Man, how do Matchbox 20 and Super Furry Animals and Fallout Boy and all those bands do it? How do you constantly be making songs, recording them, playing them for people, making them into ringtones, whatever AAAAANNND still have the energy to let anyone know about it?
I'm sorry everyone, cause I feel like there's always so much going on with Saturday Looks Good To Me and I can barely keep it together for myself, let alone alert the public about it. Not in some way where the public would necessarily even care that much, but more in a way where it's like.. "Oh, we're going on tour in a week. Maybe I should post the shows so people know about them." or maybe I should call the opening bands and make sure they're still gonna play, or maybe I should update our website, which I am terrible at. So yes, here is a makeshift update, in list form, for anyone who cares about what's happening with this band.
In order of presumed chronology:
*EAST COAST TOUR A short four shows starting this Friday and ending on Monday back in New York City. The same band that did most of the "Fill Up The Room" fall tour. Ryan "my son" Howard on drums, Andrew "our boy" Hoepfner on bass, Sgt. Sellwood on keys and guitars, and Fred "mouthnoise" Thomas, doing what I always do. Please come by if you're in the area at all.
*NEW 7"s, and how... Three new singles are on the way! First is a new double-a side banger from our friends at Ernest Jennings Records, who put out our "Money In The Afterlife" single. Two super short, super happy jams dedicated to all our friends and lovers in the UK. It's always the best to be over with the killers in London, who are beyond friendly, beyond fun, and really remind you why you go on tour or even leave your house to begin. Two songs: "Dianne, Falling Off Of Her Horse" & "Springtime Judgment". A single in the late spring or early summer will have one new song that didn't make it to FUTR and two remixes!! First time ever! Our Brooklyn buds High Places do a sick bassoon-ed out remix of "Whitey Hands" and BARR comes in with a bajillioned version of "Even If You Die On The Ocean". This will be out on K as soon as possible. and then a new 7" called "Mighty Cloud" available only on our....
*SUMMER EUROPEAN TOUR That's right! Going back to Europe and going all over this time. Our boy bjoern at Under The Stars booking in Berlin is hooking it up right now. If you're interested in having us play your venue anywhere in Germany, Sweden, France, the UK, Scotland, etc... drop him a line at bjoern@underthestars.de. He rules and will do the best. Really looking forward to playing in Germany again, a country we have sadly missed out on a lot. This tour was tricky to get people together for, as the summer tends to get busy, so it's me, Sellwood, and the illustrious Steve Middlekauf on drums, as well as our deerheart Betty Barnes on vocals and who knows what else. More news on this as soon as it's available.
And if you read all that, you realize why I don't write more often... So many words, it's a whole world. Keep it together for the end of winter little children, and hopefully we will see you all very soon. Love, Fred & The Saturdays
