I was looking on Craig's List today for possible future jobs for Mike and me when I came across an ad for egg donations. Now I've always liked the idea of being someone's Juno except for the giving birth part so only having to donate an egg would be great. When I saw the compensation I was even more interested ($3500). My only question is should I?
The only con I can think of is possibly not being able to conceive in the future. I will of course consult a doctor before making any final decisions but I want to here from my female friends. Should I donate? Would you donate?

I would do it. Must feel great to be help to help another woman who otherwise could never have a child. Since i have two, I couldn't even begin to imagine the heartache of NOT being able to have them. Of course I would talk in great length with the doctor and make sure i asked every question imaginable. But I know I would SO do it if I could. (I'm too old {{sigh}} lol)

I know I am not female, but I believe they make you take special hormones to produce more so they can get a few in one procedure...  Idk how legit that is... just pointing it out.

If you are truly interested in this, shop around....there's lots of egg donation places and they all vary in compensation. I'm too old to donate an egg, but I would if somebody needed it and I matched their wanted donor profile. Some people don't care whose egg they get, while others look for a donor that is similar to themselves as far as physical traits.

Unfortunately, donating eggs isn't as easy as donating sperm. Be prepared for months of hormone injections and the side effects that go with it.

I didn't realize that not being able to conceive in the future was a potential effect of egg donation. All I can say is....research, research, and more research!

Good luck,
Karma

it isn't as easy as it sound.  lots of doctors apointments...lots of hormones.....drug tests.......and lots of personal medical history of yours is taken.  and the fact that you have a.) tattoos and b.) piercings and c.)former smoker and anything else makes your chances of being actually paid for your donations less and less.  and anyway...it sounds good on paper as they say.
