9/13 AtL Poetry Meetup Group Sept. Poetry Workshop -- SIP Coffeehouse

Small in numbers, huge in creativity. Our poetry challenge was to take words from the word bank we created at a previous workshop and create a poem. We also brought our favorite poems from famous poets. We read from Charles Bukowski, Nikki Giovianni, and Langston Hughes. We then took their poems and wrote them from our own experience. Very inspiring!

9/19-9/21 Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival -- Augusta, GA

MUCH different from last year. The literary tent and cafe stage was pushed wayyy back to the back of the Augusta Common area, out of the way, so not many folks even knew where to find it. The weather was beautiful on Saturday but the rain trickled in on Sunday afternoon. Food was great, vendors, all the different cultures were represented but the advertisement combined with the brand new Westaou festival was rather confusing. Feedback for a better next year!

9/27 AtL Poetry Meetup Exclusive Open Mic - SiP Coffeehouse

Organized and ran like Rolex clockwork...I love it! We gave away 2 framed poems and a gift basket that would have made Oprah proud. Mose Hardin showed out on his first poetry feature at SIP and everyone had a great time! The vibe was laid back, family and friends were in the house, surrounded by poetic words! Go SIP! 8-)
