As you all know the world of comics has officially bent Hollywood over and made its tender backside it's prison bitch. Inmate after inmate has invaded its most special place and has it begging for more. Well grit your teeth tinsel town because WITCHBLADE the movie is next in line!

It's official peeps, MICHAEL RYMER, the director of the most awesome episodes of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (including the pilot and this last seasons mind-blowing finale) is on board to direct the feature film version of our favorite supernatural ass-kicking comic book heroine!

I don't know about the rest of you but I think BATTLESTAR GALACTICA is far and away the best show on television and Michael is its best visionary. I've talked to him at length about what the movie could be and this guy just gets it.

Hang on to your asses kids and forget about CAT WOMAN, we're gonna revive the female lead comic genre! Look for a 2009 or 2010 release. let the casting begin!

Peace and rock!

Is Ali Landry still hot?

Don't know if she can act worth a damn, but she'd sure look good in the costume.

Comics featuring women have always been undermined by the casual viewer on screen and off - but because you guys do have the Michael Rymer and its the Witchblade property you guys stand to turn that way of thinking (about feamle leads in comics) on its head and kick it in the teeth.

I look forward to Witchblade's rise to the bigger screen!

Sorry to Mike Diesel

Megan Fox is to young

Adriana Lima is no actress

But three of his picks look great Two of which I personally over looked

Cameron Diaz, and Cari-Anne Moss (she was a real trooper, twists her ankle realy bad in the frist Matrix movie and still repeats the stunt and continues the movie, And a real bitch in Momento)

i think a unknown might be best for this part to be honest. sometimes a actors previous work can overshadow their current hero part.

all that really matters is getting an actress to play the part more than look the part if that makes sense.

i will think on this more

I have to agree a little with Matthew. An unknown would be better, and what he says does make sense.

Like angelina would work on many levels (she did play a New York cop, she can do the physicall demands of the roll. She fits the physical roll as Sara as been pictured)

Yancy Butler would work to (she played Sara in the televsion series Witchblade, so she already have a background for the roll to fall apon)

Kate Sackhoff is an iffy (like Matthew said "overshadowed" as Starbuck from BSG. But has the physical demands she good for it from her previous work on "Bionic Women". But being a hard ass cop we can see from both. Just need to trim it a bit from both ends-less diabolic and a little less self destructive)

Kristanna Loken good also be a good one (she worked on Pain Killer she being knowledgeable with comics is there, As for action areas the again another Terminator back in time in T3. and drama work in The L Word)

somebody below said camo with Jackie-darkness. I say let that be an "easter egg" if any thing.

And to every one else out there i say lets let them consentrate souly on the Witchblade.

hopefully the person cast will "resemble" Sara while still being able to act AND kick ass. Kinda like what Angelina did for tomb raider. I liked the girl (yancy butler?) who did the TV show as an actress but she wasn't bad ass enough as a comic heroine. (something about the eyebrows?) and for fucks sake PLEASE make the blade a combination of ORGANIC and "metallic" entity like the original in NO 1 comic. I felt it looked WAY too metallic in the TV show for my liking. I always felt that the we were talking and looking at something with a mind of its own. Since it chooses its wearer. not a clone from star wars or some shit. give it some fucking personality already. CGI bitches, thats all i have to say

i'll watch anyway cause i'm a geek for witchblade!

Cast &story? Do it right! Or dont do it 4real! As long as the hollywood jarheads Get the facts in there!? Thats the treat. Its not impossible and the reward of authentic story telling will b awesome! example : Hmmm what if there was a little twist of jackie estacado aka the darkness 2add to the comic/ movie suspence? cant that fit in there somewhere? The thrill of the silver screen Have u seen the trailor 4 watchmen? Gotta be eye candy and caliber acting. Wow em out of their seats. (I mean us the fans!) so is it dat chick from transformers? Or a tough as nails like dat chic who played sara conner in t2 (who actually looks like sara pezzinni? Oh and can act?) aggree disagree? From: A diehard fan ! !

Somebody was tossing around the name Missy Peregrym from "The Reaper" and the first season of "Heroes" where she played a shapeshifter of sorts. She could really pull the part of Sara Pezzini off very well, and she's relatively new enough that she could make Sara Pezzini her own.

As far as the character goes, it'd be great if you could find a midpoint between Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2 and Megan Fox in Transformers. You know... make her tough without making her a psycho bitch from hell but not so feminine that you'd never buy her as a homicide detective in New York City. Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order: SVU could be a good template.

Would you do the beginning of her having the Witchblade? Kind of like the TV show did? Or would you pull an "Incredible Hulk" and show all that in the opening credits? Would it be based on any particular story arc, or would it be its own self-contained story?

Trying to get an international big screen release for a movie without a name actor as lead is pretty much impossible. With casting Dewan, Goss for the Magdalena leads some major markets are probably lost already since outside of the US pretty much nobody knows them. It might help to make a slightly deeper analysis of the actors you consider to cast for Witchblade if you want a worldwide success. Rymer could be a great choice though.

I think an unknown to Americans; if not enitrely - someone with some action background maybe even sports or martial arts working towards an entertainment career.

I've been getting the tankobon and the manga format collections, especially since that large paperback is a huge collector's item now. My wife is even looking forward to this movie; she enjoyed the television show.

I can't say too much about story or any cameo's but I will say that WITCHBLADE will definitely skew toward horror and be very dark. When Sara gets the blade she will NOT be a happy camper!

With all the horror pages on board that should guarantee that the project gets enough attention on the web at least. Really interesting approach which won't make an adaptation easier for Rymer.

I think a female superhero would be a good change of wind, and think of it this way, the Darkness is Marc, so he wants his baby to be the best it can be. It will be a better movie a few years down the road when technology increases and more money can be invested. I can surely wait for another male hero.

Any words Marc?
