Greetings Society of Graverobbers,
Late as always, here is the monthly Nooseletter. I found myself distracted from my normal work schedule with getting our online store up. For unfortunate reasons, an unforeseen change had to be made with our webstore handling and structure. We have gone back to our DIY roots. So I've been working on getting all the merchandise images ready for the store on top of working on the Ghoultown "Mistress of the Dark" DVD, promoting the new book "Edgar Allan Poe's Tales of Death and Dementia", Frankenstein, post production on "Wounded Embark of the Lovesick Mind" and tons of little jobs. But the good new is the store is complete, live and we're ready for business!
Now onto the happenings this month...
GRIS GRIMLY IN RICHMOND VIRGINA!

We at MCP worked really hard to make this happen. Unfortunately, we are not doing a full-blown East Coast tour as planned. But we are happy to make it to Virginia to do the East Coast book launch for "Tales of Death and Dementia" at the appropriate Poe Museum in Richmond.

The fiends at the Poe Museum have been extremely supportive and helpful in making this happen and we have an amazing event lined up for those of you who can make it out. First off, the launch party will take place during the Poe Museum's monthly Unhappy Hour, which a little raven told me rocks the pants off a corpse. There will be an Amontillado Tasting for $5, a performance of "The Black Cat" and a screening of Tim Burton's "The Sleepy Hollow" for $5.

I will be there the whole night to celebrate Poe's 200th anniversary with you. We will have Poe merchandise for sale including the book, Poe affiliated T-shirts, Limited Edition Event Poster Prints and Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's Poe inspired scents. There will be a screening of "Cannibal Flesh Riot!" in the mix there somewhere as well. So you don't want to miss this.
The event runs from 6-9pm on Thursday, September 24th with the screening of "Sleepy Hollow" starting at 9pm. Call 804-648-5523 or email mailto:info@poemuseum.orgfor more information.

http://www.poemuseum.org/THE NEW MCP STORE IS UP AND RUNNING!
I apologize for the webstore being down for the past two months. But I am happy to announce that the store is complete, up and running again. So head on over and pick up that item you've been waiting for. One good thing about the store being in our own hands again is that everything you purchase comes from us. That means I will be personally signing each book that goes out. We will also be throwing in postcards and other random goodies when we feel like it. Down with corporate chains! Support the independents!

UPDATE ON WOUNDED EMBARK OF THE LOVESICK MIND!

I'm still working with Sammy in the editing room cutting together the film. The unfortunate part about no budget films is the long haul involved. I should be seeing a rough cut of the film soon. Huy has been working on the stop motion puppets up in Portland. Once they are completed, the stop motion will follow. Lunar Effects are working on some rigs for a few final pick up shots we need to get.
If you haven't seen it yet, here is the Teaser Trailer

Here is the synopsis:
Lovesick is infatuated with the one girl he believes to be his soul mate. Although Beauty, an independent playgirl thinks otherwise. Lovesick's delusional emotions and idiosyncrasies push Beauty out of her safety zone, causing the relationship to unravel. But when Lovesick is unable to cope with the loss and falls into a downward spiral, he turns to murdering his obsession in order to keep her.
Inspired by the writings of Edgar Allan Poe, Wounded Embark Of The Lovesick Mind taps into a fear that we all have: the fear of slipping off the wire into the abyss of insanity. This second film by Gris Grimly is a dark, atmospheric and stylized depiction of love (or the deconstruction of). Told through the memories of Lovesick himself, embark on a voyage into madness...and hope you come out okay.

HORROR DRUNX

NEWS ON THE WEST MEMPHIS THREE!
Shortly after three eight-year-old boys were found murdered in West Memphis, Arkansas, local newspapers stated the killers had been caught. The police assured the public that the three teenagers in custody were definitely responsible for these horrible crimes. Evidence?
The same police officers coerced an error-filled "confession" from Jessie Misskelley Jr., who is mentally handicapped. They subjected him to 12 hours of questioning without counsel or parental consent, audio-taping only two fragments totaling 46 minutes. Jessie recanted it that evening, but it was too late -- Misskelley, Jason Baldwin and Damien Echols were all arrested on June 3, 1993, and convicted of murder in early 1994.
Although there was no physical evidence, murder weapon, motive, or connection to the victims, the prosecution pathetically resorted to presenting black hair and clothing, heavy metal t-shirts, and Stephen King novels as proof that the boys were sacrificed in a satanic cult ritual. Unfathomably, Echols was sentenced to death, Baldwin received life without parole, and Misskelley got life plus 40.
For over 14 years, The West Memphis Three have been imprisoned for crimes they didn't commit. Echols waits in solitary confinement for the lethal injection our tax dollars will pay for. They were all condemned by their poverty, incompetent defense, satanic panic and a rush to judgment.
THE WM3 NEED YOUR HELP!
Since Jason and Jessie's hearings in Jonesboro, the coffers are empty. Much needed funding is still needed to help these men get the defense and justice they deserve.
NEW SHIRTS TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE
WEST MEMPHIS THREE!

Proceeds from the sales of the new West Memphis Three inspired t-shirt "Released Butterfly" will be passed along to aid in the WM3 defense. I encourage you to visit the wm3 website yourself to learn more about this important case. "Released Butterfly" is available on Charcoal Grey for both men and women. The shirt was created to raise money for the defense of the West Memphis Three, but symbolizes all injustice that occurs due to race, class and sex.

Last year's shirt, "Broken Justice", is so close to being sold out. I want to see them gone, so that I can transfer the remaining funds to the WM3 account.
Spread the word about these shirts and get your friends and family to purchase one. They also make good gifts for holidays and birthdays and the money goes to a good cause.
Or you can send money directly to their aid. The Defense Fund Paypal is still functioning so go here to help out! Use Lorri Davis' email [ldavis11@hotmail.com] when sending funds.
