The Lazerblog goes un-updated. The HBComics website sits stale and unchanged. The twitter hasn't tweeted, and there have been no major bullitens. I can almost hear it now..."where the hell is HBComics?"
I suppose it's one of the downsides of being an independant comic company. Or an independant ANYTHING for that matter. I know whenever I don't hear anything from a local band I follow for a little while, I always question if they've broken up. When I haven't heard from an indy film company, I start to wonder if thier project has just fallen by the wayside. And ESPECIALLY with comics, if an indy publisher goes silent, it is more than natural to wonder if they haven't gone to the great spinner rack in the sky.
Well, aside from what the lack of internet rumblings might indicate, we are more than alive. With three books in full production, a MAJOR convention appearence set for next year (with alot bigger presence than we've had at ANY convention previously) and a brand new website in the works, we are actually ramping up for a huge year in 2010. And on top of it all, we have more than one major announcement in the works.
If your wondering about our lack of updates, we've been waiting on a website transfer from our old webhost to our new. With not alot of REPORTABLE news, Our next lazerblog was SUPPOSED to be about the launch of our new website. Of course, it would help if the transfer was initiated correctly in the first place.
Due to what I can only call "human error", the domain transfer was delayed. So that kinda put things off.
The good news things, things are rolling along nicely now. In fact we wanted to take the oppurtunity to let you all know that our good friend and Vindication artist Danny White has volenteered to design the new website, and to help us out with content as well. Expect a bigger, better
www.hbcomics.com soon. Danny better be careful though, he's quickly making himself indespensible to us.
So there you have it...2010 is going to be a BIG year for us.
In the meantime, back to work.
See you nextblog.
Chris
PS: As a special treat, look for a sneek peek of Danny's "Vindication #2" in a future Lazerblog.
