Hello Drifter Dudes and Dudettes. We have a few updates from the Compound that we want you to know about.
2009 Americana Music Festival Showcasing Artist
We have been chosen to showcase at the 09’ Americana Music Festival in Nashville. This is a four day event put on by the Americana Music Association featuring artists like Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Sarah Watkins, etc. The shows start at 8PM and go on all night. We will be at the Station Inn on Friday night at 12AM.
Christian Sedelmyer on Fiddle
We have had a great time in the last month with our new fiddle player, Christian. Everywhere we have performed, the crowd has loved him. We took him in the studio with us and have laid down some great stuff on every track and have almost finished our next album with him on it. We noticed that somebody has posted a video of us with Christian at the Basement in Nashville on Youtube. The sound recorder on the camera wasn’t the best, but check it out. We will work on getting something up soon with better sound.
KY Show Tomorrow
If you are reading this on or before Friday, the 14
th of August and you are near Frankfort, KY come out to the
Kentucky Coffeetree Café for our first time there. We have heard from great bands like
Missy Raines and The New Hip that it is a great venue.
Drifter at TPAC in Nashville
We have been chosen to perform on the nationally syndicated radio show "Says You" coming to Nashville (TPAC's Polk Theater) on Saturday, August 22. This show has been featured in Time Magazine and The New York Times. We will be the house band performing all of the music for the episode.
LR Baggs The Endorsement deals seem to be flowing in and it is really helping us out on the road. We have recently plugged in our instruments and I am proud to announce that I received an endorsement from LR Baggs for my mandolin. I love their pickups and preamps and I am glad to endorse their product.
Newgrass Fetival in KY
And finally, we are playing the first International Newgrass Festival in Oakland, KY Along with us at the Festival will be some of our friends like Cadillac Sky, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Greencards along with the Fathers of Newgrass like Sam Bush, Curtis Burch, John Cowan, etc. I am sure this will be a festival that will be back year after year so come join us at the first one.

Thanks!
