A lot of people have a whole community of their MySpace friends who chat them up in the blog comments. I'm not one of those, if you couldn't tell, but I'm grateful that I have lots of people who write me messages and I try to keep the whole back-and-forth going on. Anyway. So I don't know how many casual readers there are out there who might have noticed, but we took down the One-Sided Waltz for right now to put up a remixed version of "Running In Circles" - the old version was a really rough mono recording and this new one is in rich, luscious stereophonic stereo. Also, I sang it over again. A little less pop, a little more rock. The Waltz will be back in a different form - we're polishing it up for the CD.

Sunday I played a solo set for kickass photographer Frank DeSantis... invited a small group of friends down to watch the photos being taken and to listen to the songs. I ended up building an entire stage and PA system and bringing my own stage lights (Frank brought all those big pro photographer lights)... it was kind of amazing to see this warehouse space transformed into a mini nightclub. Drinking vodka and rockin out on the seventh floor of nowhere in particular, looking out on Portland's lovely freeway overpasses and bypasses. It was truly an awesome experience.

Frank and I are getting together next week to go over proofs and then I'll post the results up on here. We shot some video, too, which I'll try to throw onto the computer in the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, it went so well that I'm gearing up to put together a similar event with the full band, and with a bigger audience of friends (including some of you I haven't met yet). I'll say more about that when I show you all the photos from this one.

Springtime can kill you. This one's no different. I've been crashing parties and writing a bunch of new songs, can't wait to share it all with you. Much love and music and talk to you soon.
