Those of you who actually read my blog might remember me ranting about Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan a few months back, and how I said it was unfortunate that this little gem would never see the light of day in the US... or anywhere outside of Japan for that matter.

Well, it seems that I stand corrected!

While it's not exactly Ouendan, Nintendo recently released Elite Beat Agents, which is for all intent a localized remake of it's highly addictive predecessor.

Heard of it? Good! Go buy it.  Seriously, if you own a DS you can't live without it.  And if you can, you have no soul.

The song list may be off putting featuring artists such as Ashlee Simspon, Avril Lavigne and Sum41... but don't let that get to you.  This game is chock full of shiny goodness.
The way you play is similar to DDR, in that you hit numbered markers on the screen in time with the beat of the song playing to get through each chapter of the scenario.
Nicknamed Cheer-cheer revolution to rythm game fans, the basic principle of the game is to cheer people on during every day events such as directing a blockbuster movie from a failing career, babysitting three brats from hell or helping a white blood cell fight off disease.

Overall, I don't rate it as high as I rate Ouendan, but if you're looking for something excellent with a streak of Japanese craziness without having to order overseas, go ahead and give it a try.
Or, if you're like me and hopelessly addicted to the import, it's the perfect expansion to tide you over until they release another JP version.

Looks like I have no soul. And yet, I'm not saddened. =P
