Goodnight Delaney,
I was truly saddened today to receive an email from a friend telling me that Delaney Bramlett had died at the age of 69 in Los Angeles. I am a person who has been genuinely touched by the words, songs, and amazing singing of Mr Bramlett. Delaney was a musician's musician, as is said, and therefore probably wasn't known to the general public at large, especially in the 21st century. His former wife Bonnie, and his daughter Becca, are still two of the most amazing singers on the planet. It is my own personal opinion that Eric Clapton never found his own voice till he hung out with and tried to sing like Delaney. If you listen to Eric's 1st solo album and some of Delaney's solo singing at that time on any Delaney & Bonnie record, you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart. I just wanted to say a public thank you to Mr Bramlett for giving me many, many, hours of inspiration, solace, & joy. And also for the best damn version to this day of "Faded Love" i've ever heard.
peace
