I have a 1 year old son. The other day, I was just sitting on my couch and watching him play. I was thoroughly enjoying myself. My heart was swelling up with joy... just watching him. He wasn't doing anything special, he was just being him, playing, and figuring out new things. Then, this thought ran through my mind: "I wonder if God enjoys watching us?" I pondered it for a moment and then I remembered Psalm 139:
17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
I realized... God is thinking about me. This was a cool revelation. God not only thinks about me, he thinks about me (AND YOU) a lot. Verse 18 basically says that God thinks about us so much that if we counted his thoughts it would be more than the number of grains of sand. ... I believe that includes the sands in the sea as well.
I thank God for that revelation. I know He loves me more than I could ever love anyone... including my son... and I love my son more than words can express.... so if God enjoys me like I enjoy my son... WOW!!! God enjoys us! He truly wants relationship with us. He enjoys watching us... even when we aren't doing anything special. He likes to be with us.
