As we hit the campaign trail, we'll be sharing some of the activities in which we've taken part and some of the people we've met along the way. A busy schedule usually finds Lt. Gov. Jack Dalrymple and his wife, Betsy, at different parades in different parts of the state, so it's nice to hear about their experiences. Here is a note from Betsy from Saturday, June 21. Jack and Betsy traveled to Aneta, Finley and Binford for their community celebrations:

Hi Everyone!

We have done three parades before- Jack and I each doing a different one in the a.m. and meeting in the afternoon, but this was the first time we had three together. We couldn't have had better weather for the parades- 70s and mostly sunny!

Finley was fun- Roger Timm and Spencer Bauer met us and carried the sign and some candy. Jack shook hands and backtracked the other side when it was all done.

We then went to Binford for lunch in their cafe. It was crowded. There were eight of us- four of us and four Brian backers. Kelly and her crew of four met us again in time for the parade to start. The parade was about two blocks long so it was easy to greet everyone. They seemed very surprised and pleased to see us.

While in Binford, we also stopped at the new grocery store to get essential parade materials: Band Aids and Advil!

Aneta- OH MY GOSH!!!! 308 TURKEYS ALL COOKING AT THE SAME TIME! We have never seen any thing like it - all in a row on spits. They planned on serving 3,000 people and it was crowded! We spent time after the parade hanging around the park and then eating- the food was delicious! Everyone some time should go to Aneta for this event!

Until Next Time,

Betsy
