Charlotte's Underground has played host to all types of music and genres of shows. We are currently the fastest growing new music venue in Charlotte.

Playing/booking a show at Charlottes Underground is simple, we only ask that you promote your show to all your fans in the area, get them to come out to the show. We would like to make it very clear that we do our part in promotion and it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to get your FANS to the show!

Myspace makes it simple these days to promote, get the word out!

Here at CU we have a policy of NO GUARANTEES, we only work with door deals. How that works is for example:

{{{LOCAL BANDS}}}

4 local bands want to put on a show at CU

Tickets for this show would USUALLY cost $7 over 21/$9 for under.

Each local band would make $1 off each head who pays at the door.

120 people pay at the door, each band makes $120.00

Simple enough right?

{{{SMALLER TOURS}}}

2 bands are touring across America, book a show at CU
get 2 strong local opening acts.

Tickets for this show would USUALLY cost $9 over/$12 under

Bands on tour make $2 off each head who pays at the door. (2 touring bands $4 total)
Local acts still make $1 off each head who pays at the door.

120 people pay at the door...
therefore together the two tour bands together at make $480.00
both local bands make $120.00

It does not happen often but it does indeed happen, sometimes a huge tour will come through the queen city and book at CU

3 big bands are on tour over Northern America, book a show at CU.
Get two local opening acts.

Most major tours require us to work with a label or booking agent, the terms and conditions of these shows are more often than not specific to the show.

SPECIAL TERMS FOR BANDS BOOKING:

Lets say your band wants to book a cd release party and you have your friends bands play as openers for you and the other bands are NOT being paid?

Your band would then recieve the $1 off each head that the other opening acts would have recieved. However, in these conditions all bands must be in agreement for this to happen and these terms must be agreed upon with the booking agent when confirming the date.

Make sense?

We do things differently around here, but it works.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AS A BAND FOR YOUR SHOW:

UPDATE! Us, that is...of any lineup changes or special requests.

We prefer all bands find their own opening acts to play with them, however we will find them for you should the need be.

IT IS THE BANDS RESPONSIBILITY to get US a flyer. If you have a show with us, you should have a flyer, send it to us!

We will post it allover the place, default it, and who knows what else!

Be at the venue before the door opens!

GENERAL SHOW INFO FOR ALL SHOWS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED!

1: The doors will open @ 8pm and the show will begin @ 9pm (unless otherwise arranged) set length is between 30-45 minutes long.

2: LOAD IN TIME IS 7:30PM  NO SOONER! We prefer all bands be present before the doors open so we can get everyone checked in, if before 8pm is not possible please be there before the show starts at 9pm.

3: Generally here at CU the majority of our shows are 18+, however should you choose to have an ALL AGES SHOW that is perfectly ok! Just let Aura know when you are booking/confirming the date.

4: Each show depending on who is playing, how many bands are playing, and the general expected turnout will have a different price. PLEASE ASK AURA WHAT THE COST FOR YOUR SHOW WILL BE IN ADVANCE!

5: DO NOT REQUEST A SHOW, OR A SPOT ON A SHOW THROUGH A PHOTO COMMENT, BLOG COMMENT, OR A FRIEND REQUEST. Please E-mail us on this site or by emailing Aura.
