Hi everybody, John here with the Road Blog.
Thank You to all the Jamie Richards fans that braved the weather at the Tommy Alversons Family Gathering. We had a great time at the event and would like to thank everyone that made it possible.

This day started off great. The Gathering was the only show that we played this week so we decided to get out there a day early to see our good friends Deryl Dodd and Walt Wilkins. We left the Eagle home again and were using Vivian, another leased tour bus provided by F1 Celebrity Coach in Denison, Tx. We borded the bus around 2pm and hit the road for Lyod Park. We arrived around 4 and were greeted at the gate by one of our special friends Julie. We were parked and in no time were hooked up to shore power and well on our way to having a good time. Jamie and I cruised backstage and seen a lot of our friends. I told a lot of people about an after party back at our bus little did I know how many people would here about it. After we watched Deryl and Walt finish out the night, we headed back to the bus and built a fire. 10 people turned into 100 and we partied until 5am. We have to get some sleep before work.

We woke up to a rainy morning with no sign of it improving. We moved the gear to the back of the stage and got ready for the show. Jamie and the Band took the stage around 6pm. The heavy rain took the stage around 6:04pm. I have got to hand it to the fans. Most of them poped out rain coats and stuck around for the shows conclusion.
Jamie and the Band put on a hell of a show. The show was a time of endings and new beginings. Paul Holder who has been our drummer for the last 5 years is leaving the band after the Gathering. I am happy to have been at Paul's first and last show. Everybody who has been in the band and I speak for everyone when I say that we all call Paul a hell of a drummer and a special friend. We wish the best for him and Alicia and hope to see them down the road.

We woke up to about 4 more inches of rain. Vivian moved about 4 feet until she started to sink into the mud. Thankfully one of our friends with a big diesel helped us back onto the street.
Had a great time and look forward to Ennis and Bandera Texas next Weekend.
