First of all, please let me wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all had a lovely day. So here's my story......

I started out with the usual. I managed to STILL wake up at the ass crack of dawn, even though it was one of the only guarenteed days off I ever get each year. I was laying in bed trying to rest when my doorbell AND phone started ringing at 7AM. What the crap? So yeah, I get out of bed and grab my phone and answer the door. It was our friend Shawn....on the phone AND at the door. Apparently he had gone out to get some things out of his car and had locked himself out. We have one of those doorknobs on our door going into the garage that when it is locked, it is only locked from the OUTSIDE, not the inside. So if you are going out of the door, you have no clue that it is locked.

Now, a smart person would have fixed this right away. Obviously I am not one of those people....

Fastfoward to almost noon. I had made this HUGE pistachio salad (I went to my in laws for Thanksgiving - Kaleb had to work all day.) We all know what a huge, wonderful family he has. I walked out the garage door with the salad thinking - I'll go put this in my car, and then go back in the house fo my keys, purse, cell phone, etc. BIG MISTAKE. I get the salad in my car and realize - I JUST LOCKED MYSELF OUT OF MY HOUSE! Nice. I stood there freezing with no coat, debating what to do. We've lived in our house for a year and a half, and I STILL haven't actually met any of our neighbors. I decide to run across the street and ring the doorbell. LAME! I had to call my father in law to come and pick me up.

But hey....I finally met my neighbors, right? And, at least I still had my fabulous salad for Thanksgiving!

So, for all of you who's phone calls I missed, I'm sorry! I was a looser who locked myself out of my house on Thanksgiving!

Ciao!

I could almost laugh at this story if it wasn't something I would totally do myself! Gee, we must be sisters, eh? Anyway, sorry you froze outside with no coat on Turkey Day, kitten. Glad you were saved, though...and that your salad stayed fresh. :)
