Susan Tedeschi is an impassioned blues belter chronicling the vicissitudes of life in her own words and those of blues legends like Big Mama Thornton, Junior Wells, or Elmore James.

Since her Just Won't Burn CD came out in 1998, the road has been her home. It was only very recently that she established a permanent address. Together with her band, she has traversed the continent many times, playing nearly 900 dates. Along the way, Tedeschi appeared at the 1999 VH-1 Concert of the Century and Farm Aid events as part of an all-star cast. She has continually been in good company, sharing the stage with the likes of Bob Dylan, the Allman Brothers Band, John Mellencamp, Ray Charles, Sarah McLaughlin, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, the Dixie Chicks, and many others. Beginning in August, she was a featured member of the B.B. King Blues Festival 2000 tour traveling with King and Buddy Guy throughout the Northwest, the deep South, and the Midwest before the tour wound down October 2.

Tedeschi found her musical path after sitting in regularly at blues clubs throughout the Boston area following her graduation from Berklee in 1991. She assembled her own band in 1993 and began working all over New England. After winning Boston's Battle of the Blues Bands the following year and placing second at a national blues contest in Memphis in 1995, she self-produced her debut album, Better Days. She later signed with Tone Cool Records and released Just Won't Burn to great critical acclaim. Embraced by radio and the music press alike, the disc has lifted Tedeschi's career to new heights and was recently certified gold after selling more than half a million copies.

In addition to getting good press, she has been receiving awards like a Grammy nomination as Best New Artist, seven Boston Music Awards, and three W.C. Handy Awards. She has made her way into other media by appearing on TV shows hosted by David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, and Donnie and Marie Osmond. Tedeschi's music has also turned up in the soundtracks of The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas and Autumn Heat, and has been used in the TV sitcom "Party of Five" and other shows.

I saw Susan Friday night (10/21/05) at Irving Plaza in New York and I thought she was amazing. I brought some friends who had never heard of her. Susan came out on stage and starts talking in her quiet little voice and these guys are looking at me like, yeah right. Not 10 seconds later they're saying how they couldn't believe the voice that came out of that little body. She played for about 2 1/2 hours with one small 5 min break. I was really surprised at how she just kept going and going. She would finish one song and start right up with another. The entire band was very precise and tight.  This is one show you should see if you like the blues.  Very refreshing!

I had the amazing opporunity to see you perform on 3 seperate occasions this past year. The New Orleans Jazzfest, Ravinia near Chicago and at The Park West in Chicago. All of these shows simply left me in total awe, I was spellbound by the talent you and your band share with the world. The show at the Park West will most notabley be burned into my memory since I had the best seat in the house. I was fortunate enough to be at center stage with nothing between us but your mic stand. What a fantastic expeiriance that night was. Your music melts into the heart and soul of those who enjoy the power of your voice and your wonderful guitar. I only hope the opportunity to see you time and time again.
best wishes.......

About four years ago, my bass player handed me Susan's "Just Won't Burn" cd.  He asked if I'd want to something like it.  (Meaning, "Rock Me Right")  I listened on the drive home and was wide-eyed the whole way.  Damn skippy I'd want to, but not in a million years!!!  That's God-given  raw talent.  A GIFT!  Beautiful.  I've been a loyal fan ever since.  She brings grown men to tears.  Believe me, I've been in her audience enough to have seen it more than a few times!  She owns it and we feel it!  When I saw her for the first time on Nov. 9, 2003 (I believe it was her bday!!!), I was struck by her elegance.  And who'd have put that sweet, soft-spoken voice with the sheer POWER she delivers on stage!  Unbelievable!  I always wonder what her own reaction was when she first realized she had a voice like that!  Truly inspiring...and truly humbling.

I seen her live for the first time ever and she sang just that very song this past Sunday,Jan 29th.I have been a HUGE fan since around 8 years ago and she literally restored my faith in music and artists that do it from the heart!!! "Totally Captivating" is but one of many ways  to describe what it feel is the best TRUE ARTIST out there right now and has been for sometime!!Her band,OMG!!! .Bass player played his shit UPSIDE DOWN!!!! Guy on keyboards was enough energy alone for a great show not to mention the EXPERTISE he showed on his instrument(Hammond B3 I Believe It Was)Drummer,Clock rock!!!!!!Even had some Dude blowing a mean Sax(Saxy for an olde rdude,,lolol)Best show I've ever been to,and it is more than a bunch I've been to,trust me.Anyways,I spoke briefly with her after the show as she signed autographs  and my guitar player's hat,and she seemed so humbled still after all her success!!! She even graciously accepted a CD of my band as well(Daze Of Freedom). And I know I will ALWAYS treasure the gift she gave me most of all,My Belief that there is players, artists, musicians who still do it from the heart and not the image. So Susan ,on behalf of me,my wife,my band and everyone else I have preached your musical gospel to,THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!AND WE LOVE YOU~!~!~!

Hello Susan,

I just got back from your performance at the Summerfest grounds here in Milwaukee WI. I wanted to write this while the music and experiance was still fresh in my thoughts. I don't know if most people there realized it but, you truely had church,  I want to thank you personaly for that. Along with the spiritually based Dylan song "Lord Protect My Child" and "Sweet Forgiveness"  the mood for the evening was set to things above. It brought a tear of joy to my eye. It is also refreshing to see a headliner here in Milwaukee that does not have to drink or promote drinking alcohol, I did not see that during your show. You are a beutiful person for doing that for you and your child whom I believe you said was at the show also. As you take him on the road with you and he sees all that around him he will take note that his mother was not a part of that. You can rock and stomp and shout without all that. I will remember you and your family in my devotions and pray for you and their safety.

God Bless,

Richard

Susan, I have been your hugest fan since the first time I saw you. That first time was a free concert at the lilac concert in Rochester NY. it must have been 10 years ago. i quickly got your first CD and "just wont burn" when it came out. Of course, I have "wait for me" and "hope and desire" as well!! I have seen you play five times and I have received your autograph twice.  I see you have two beautiful children and a talented husband. Congratulations on making it all work!!

Your biggest fan ever!!

Another HUGE fan checking in here:)  I absolutely admire the power in your music.  My hubby and I jam together and with our local blues society...so I can only guess the excitement you have doing it for real and getting to make sweet music with your hubby like for real.  I love to try to sing your stuff when we jam at home, but whew...not quite there...beautiful stuff!

You have been an asset to many in the music business, by your talent and gifts that you give just by entertaining.  You have a voice like no other and being able to play more than just your "voice" instrument is a joy to hear.

Good Luck in All You Do.  I will listen and buy your Cd's, as I know you are hittin it big!!!!

Also, you might want to check out Adjoa, on here, under Emily Skinner, I love networking!!!!!!

As a band manager, website production and marketing advertisement coordinator, I think you have a special gift and I hope you take your journey through it all the way!!!
