Howdy Friends of Wolf Creek,
After taking a month off for some outside projects, we regrouped to start the next wave of shows this weekend with appearances at Kemosabee's and The Bus Pit. This was our first time in both venues, so each was a treat to experience.
We met some new friends Friday and received a great response from the staff and guests. We expect to book another show there possibly in the Fall.
Saturday we played The Bus Pit, Tri-Cities newest music venue. The venue is built in the old Kingsport school bus garage, so there is lots of character in the building and the remnants of it's past life. The staff is great too, and with the Bonefire Smokehouse right next door, this is a great place to grab dinner and a show. So far they have booked a good selection of established as well as up and coming acts in the Alt-Country, Roots & Bluegrass vein. Since opening last month, they have been tweaking the whole operation, and with some work, it could become a major draw for music fans and performers from around our region and beyond. Wolf Creek will return June 25th after the free Twilight Alive concert for another show.
Next weekend we head to the beautiful mountains of NC for a show at Canyons in Blowing Rock. With a history of bringing great food, drinks and live music to the High Country, we look forward to spending some time with our friends there.
We're currently working on dates for Fall Festival season, as well as exploring club dates in some new markets such as Knoxville, Charlotte & Roanoke. Stay tuned here for the schedule, or bookmark our website *Here*
Finally, this Spring saw the start of recording for our first CD project which we anticipate releasing in November '09. The project will include original material from the band, as well as songs from some notable writers with major awards to their credit. As with our live show, you can expect an eclectic blend of Newgrass, Alt-Country, Blues & Rock.
Thanks to everyone who has been out to see us. Your support is what makes all this possible, so THANKS! Keep us in mind if you're looking for something to do, and please help us spread the word. . . .
Cheers,
Jason, Kevin, Ed, Jim, Rob
