Official Tour Blog.... Number 2.So... when we last left you we were on our way to Oakland. Without too much needless explanation - we didn't end up doing the first show we had planned for the SF/Oakland area. Little did we know that this unexpected turn of events would lead to quite the stop in San Francisco. After making the most of our first night with some fun in Berkeley, we got some much needed rest and headed out Monday morning on a little adventure. We decided that we wanted to busk at the train station in San Francisco. (See pictures and video below). We set up an acoustic set with just Sherry, Alia and Amanda (as Beth was manning the equipment and uhaul in the parking-less streets of San Francisco) and played for a couple of hours. It was a blast - sold some cd's and talked to a lot of people - one lady who was singing along with "Little One" as she had heard it on myspace - amazing! We decided to go out that night and stopped for dinner in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of SF. After we ate we were walking down the street and heard some blues music coming from a little bar called "Skips Tavern". We decided to wander in and listen... Regi (who plays at the bar a few nights a week with his blues and jazz bands) came up and chatted with us a bit on a break and asked us to get up a do a few songs... it felt like a scene out of "Adventures In Babysitting"... remember?? "Nobody leaves here without singin' the blues". After some convincing - we got up and sang a few songs - Regi and his bass player even joined in on Goodnight and spiced it up with some blues guitar and bass. The night will definitely make for some great memories. The next day (Tuesday) we packed up (with an additional passenger - as our friend Elizabeth is now along the ride as official videographer) and headed for Portland. We stopped off for dinner in Ashland, OR for dinner and Beth being the TROOPER that she is - decided to just drive the rest of the way that night. We pulled into town and are now camped out with our friend Tana getting ready for a show in Tacoma tonight and Portland tomorrow. We'll keep you posted more in the next few days!
