I just came from reading a TV Guide online report on how George Clooney is forming a strike-strikers team for the Writer's Guild strike. Everybody from Steven Spielberg to Bob Weinstein is part of this all-star team whose purpose is to stop the writer's strike from continuing. If this works, bless his heart. This must work because everyone in America is suffering from TV detox. Hell, thanks to these protesting jerks, they stop airing not one, two, or three, but four of my new favorite shows, Dirty Sexy Money, Chuck, Pushing Daisies, & believe it or not, appointment TV for a straight heterosexual guy like myself, Gossip Girl. Also old favorites like The Simpsons, Family Guy, Two & A Half Men, Desperate Housewives (once again, appointment TV for a straight hetero like myself), & the entire NBC Comedy Night Done Right line-up is also suffering from this travesty these dudes call a "strike". Luckily, the movie studios have films currently in production that still filming and not victims of the strike, so, there are two rays of sunshine to shed some light on a dark time for me, you, and every other red-blooded, hot dog-eating, soda-drinking, dog-loving American who takes time out from whatever they do, curl up with their family and watch a really great TV show. George, please, for our sakes, do NOT foul this up. Everyone who has read this blog entry or reading this blog entry right now is counting on you and your strike-busting team.

P.S.- There is one movie that opens next weekend that was filmed right before the strike ever happened. That movie in question is "Cloverfield", a monster movie for the YouTube generation, is produced by the same dude who created "Lost" & "Alias", not to mention directed "M:I-III (Mission: Impossible 3)". I've seen numerous previews of this movie, support this movie unless you are a fan of mindless entertainment like "One Missed Call" & "27 Dresses" when this comes out next Friday, January 18th, 1-8-08.
