This felt so far away... even last week I was, like, "We have sooo long before we go back on the roooooad!" Now the day is near kissin' me in the face! I'm ready.
We're getting the suitcases ready. We're working out a little bit more, too, so that all that IHOP and street vendor food doesn't do too much damage. Did I say "damage"??? I use that term loosely. Delicious damage :-)
We leave this coming Tuesday morning and start in DC. This'll be the first time I've ever been! I'm excited to be so close to my political crush, President Obama. I think Sam has a little crush on him, too. Just sayin'!
We've heard of some little out-of-the-way places to eat (yes, we are ALWAYS thinking about FOOD!!!), so let us know if you have any favorite spots we need to know about before we go!
The next day we have a taping for NPR, 'Tell Me More'!! You know that show that comes on on Tuesdays?? I think it's Tuesdays! Well, we're taping a show that will air a week before our album comes out - which is OFFICIALLY OFFICIALLY on AUGUST 11TH! Unless the world ends! You can't wait, right??? Neither can we... :)
I hope Sam has his led foot ready because we leave from NPR studios straight to our show in New York- a 5 hour drive without traffic.
But wait... there's NO traffic en route to NEW YORK CITY!!!!! ;o)
Then.... we get.... to go... to BOSTON! YES, I am excited!!!!! I had the honor of going to college there and living there for 2 years, and I haven't been back in 10 years, ya'll! Oops. One thing I'll probably have to leave here at home in Nashville is that phrase. *Ya'll*. Ok---- I'll see "you guyz" sooooon! (is that betta?) I'm literally gonna leave notes on all of my favorite former professors' office door at Berklee, to let them know what an impact they had on my life... and my music to this day.
We're ending our tour in PA. Green, lush, PA. With the lovely Jake Shimabukuro (whom we had the honor of playing with last week at the Belcourt here in Nashville... and whom we'll be playing with in DC).
If that's not a perfect week... I don't know what is. WISH US LUCK!!!
