Do you think it is wrong to teach children ideas such as these??
I am very interested in everyone's opinions.

I didn't edit the video. I just found it. Also, that kids with the rat tail that says he wouldn't want to go to a school that says evolution is right is a clip from the movie, "Jesus Camp."
Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it.

I feel sorry for these kids, they are being brain-washed into believing a specific religious ideology.

Brain washed is absolutely right,.. I was one of these kids when I was young,.. A negative secondary effect of religion is social ignorance, If any of them finally break to the world outside of their narrow minded upbringing,.. they are kicked around for awhile till they finally "get it" (meaning how to function with YOUR own mind.) I do feel for them,.. for I know what its like to finally break free and teach yourself how to THINK!! Its tough. Religion is doing these kids no favors.

Holly-
What do you think about people who claim childhood religious indoctrination is a form of child abuse?
Coming from that background yourself and breaking free from it, what were some of the hardest things you faced?

What do I think of people who claim its a form of child abuse? I feel it is. (mental abuse.
)

look at the video again. This stuff REALLY HAPPENS!! I was there,.. it happens just as stupidly as this Video portrays,.. Yes,. we think its 'funny' .. but this is what some religious zealots REALLY REALLY do to their children,.. it was done to me, just as rediculous as it shows on this video.

The fear of demons was a horrible fear my brothers and I had. We were afraid to be alone because to us, demons were a real thing, and they were waiting to "get" us.

You got use to being spit on and called names,.. it was almost an "honor" because it means you were one of Gods people then,.. but the fear of demons is something that untill only recently,.. I couldn't overcome.

The separation from social activities, and life, you also learned to accept as a child, But like I said,.. when you break free,.. you're a total social ignoramus.

People dont know that you grew up in a bubble,.. they just think you're socially inept (and you are) So re-learning social skills is one thing I had to overcome. But that whole Demon thing is the worst.

My brother and I recently held a conversation, he asked if I didn't agree that all Jehovah witness 'children' who left the "truth"(as they call it) should be able to sue the religion for the education that they now want, but werent allowed to get.. because when you are a Jehovah witness child, you are taught that it is not necessary to get an extended education because the end of the world will be coming and this worldly education will be of no use in Gods "New System". Rather the more loving way to spend your time is to go knocking on doors and preach about the end of the world.

For Gods sake!! the greatest gift you can give your child is the ability to think and reason for himself. The greatest gift you can give them is the ability to THRIVE in this world from his own inner power.

** post note on the whole sue thing: I believe their comes a point when of course you have to stop blaming your parents and take responsibility for where you are at,.. but when you're an honor student in high school,.. that is when you have the opportunity to get college grants, scholarships.. etc based on your high school academics,.. not 10 years later.

Once again,.. the whole demon thing is the worst,..in other religions it might be the fear of hell,.. but in my childhood religion, it was demons.

Holly-
I have been meaning to get back to you for so long. I wanted to absolutely thank you for your insight. your story is both horrific and inspiring. You truly covey the absolute fear and depravity you felt as a child as well as the strength and intelligence you possess as an adult. I think stories like these are of the utmost importance. People tend to pigeon hole atheists as unfeeling science driven drones, when in fact, it is many times a emotion that has caused us to look deeper within ourselves and the truth to the universe. I would like your permission to repost your story as its own blog and maybe others will follow suit in sharing their experiences.
Thanks again for sharing,
Ashley

WOW!! that was a really funny comedy!! I laughed the whole time!
I thought the "J" word was Jehovah,.. not Jeasus,.. but I'll let the religions argue that.
Ha Ha
I noticed 1 minute 15 seconds into it when the tour guide was trying to get the children to answer some stupid question about dinasours eating meat: he nodded his head YES,. but his words from his mouth was NO,..according to his body language, I dont think he knows the answer himself to the question(I really didnt understand what He was asking) Yeah,.. that was great comedy.

I'm thinking my favorite part of this comedy show was when they tried to convince people that "THE ONLY POSSIBLE ANSWER TO ALL QUESTIONS IS IN THE BIBLE" well of course,.. because the bible requires BLIND FAITH,.. thats the funniest kind of faith at all!!

NO wait,.. THE BANANA SKIT,.. yeah,. that was my favorite part!!! I can only think of 2 things to do with a banana,.. eating it,.. and,.. well... If you turned the volume off,.. it looked like he was playing out the other thing. The man next to him looked like he just wanted to bust out in tears. yeah,.. that was my favorite!!
