Hi and welcome back.
It's been a rough week
and some since my Mom had a major heartattack. The Hospital she was staying at had an awesome staff and they managed to stabilise her and she was moved to the ICU but she still wasn't out of the woods yet.
Once they took the respirator out of her throat, she actually looked lucid and was showing signs of improving. The next day i was informed she was deteriorating quickly and had to be moved to another floor.
The ICU had done everything they could for her.
Whatever hope i had been given was taken away so quickly. Every night i was there staying with her. It was insanely crazy with all of the running around required to make this a reality but i already had to work in the daytime so i wanted to spend as much time with her as possible.
Thursday i was informed the Hospital wanted to start a Morphine I.V. drip so that they wouldn't have to keep giving her injections.
There was only one side effect from this: her breathing would slow as her dosage was raised. It was the humane way to help her pass on without suffering, she was in a lot of pain.
Friday around lunchtime she passed on.
The Hospital staff was incredible, they allowed me to stay with her as long as i needed, to say goodbye.
When you lose someone you love, life still continues on but even though you've done as much as you could to show them you cared for them you still wished you could have done more. Been there more. It's never easy but unfortunately life does continue on and we all have a family to look after, care for, etc.
Show the people you love exactly how much you care for them before it's too late. Life changes so quickly and sometimes not for the better.
Have a great week.
Rich.
