Day 1 Urbankeller Salzburg (AT) 5. 9. 2008

WRITTENdiary:
Well, the first show of the Tour.
We arrive a little late. No monitoring. Heavy drinking afterwards.
A good warm up for the things to come i guess. The show was good fun and even though the place was not ravingly crowded, the people that we're there seemed to enjoy themselves.
After the show we head to Alex' place for even more beer, Fatwreck Comps and chats with the LAZY LOBSTER / 7YEARSBADLUCK dudes. I fall asleep first and miss Andi and Giorgio pulling off their infamous acoustic-cover-thing as i get told afterwards. Therefor i wake up in the morning finding several messages drawn on several parts of my body. VERY FUNNY. Another thing that's was about to repeat later on. EVEN FUNNIER! Haha.

Day 2 AKKU Immenhausen (GER) 6. 9. 2008

WRITTENdiary:
We arrive again later than agreed after a very long drive, but JERK OFF KID and LEFTHAND THIRDFINGER, the two other bands playing that evening, arrive about the same time and nobody really minds. The venue is a typical german Jugendzentrum, really nice equipped. We get told that the club used to be sleeper and that lots of big bands (such as SICK OF IT ALL[!!!]) played there couple of years ago. Wow.
There are not a lot of people at the show again, but we enjoy watching the other two bands play and we really enjoy partying with them.

Day 3 CAFE SWAF Hoorn (NL) 7. 9. 2008

Back again! We already played in Hoorn back in December 07 and we're super glad to have the chance to go there again. It's a very small but all the better Pub. The last time we've been there we played as the only band that evening, this time we play together with DISCOURSE AVENUE from the netherlands who also arranged the show for us. They start playing pretty early because they still have a longer drive home coming up, nonetheless they play a stunning set of atmospheric
Post Hardcore. We play after them and are lucky that a bunch of people found their way into the club.
We stay at Nico's, the club owners place who proves to be a very hospitable person once again. THANKS!

Day 4 DAY OFF 8. 9. 2008 Eindhoven

Fortunately Jozua, bass player of DISCOURSE AVENUE, gives us the chance to spend the night at the flat where he lives together with his girlfriend in Eindhoven. They cook some really good vegan curry for us, burn us a mix cd of several dutch crust bands and are all in all amazingly kind to us. We're a bunch of lucky kids!!

Day 5 L'ALHAMBRA BAR Nancy (FR) 9. 9. 2008

WRITTENdiary:
After some sightseeing (without me, cause I take a nap in our van and almost melt during that) we arrive at the venue. It's basically a metal pub but the local Punk/Hc Scene seems to set up shows there as well.
The Screamo bands CHAOS IS and TOMATO DJIHAD play before us and do a good job! The Venue is well crowded when we start playing and by the end of our set people enthusiastically demand an encore. Even after our usual encore cover song they keep on going. We didn't practice any more songs though and somehow i find myself short time after that playing MINOR THREAT's „I Don't Wanna Hear It" together with two guys from the french band EXIT WOUNDS. Amazing!
After the usual yet never boring „after-show-drinking"-thing we still go to see the square of Nancy, which is as our host JP tells us „the most beautiful place in europe, if not in the world!"
i thought it was pretty okay. : )
We sleep at JP's floor after a remarkably funny day.

Day 6 CAFE DE VINGER Den Haag (NL) 10. 9. 2008

WRITTENdiary:
Den Haag is a beautiful city! We arrive at Cafe De Vinger and start loading our equipment in. We are supposed to play together with the dutch bands PROGRESS and DRUNKTANK, but while we build up our stuff on stage one of the guys from DRUNKTANK comes in and announces that they're not able to play that evening, because their drummer is in jail for some dubious reasons. We still haven't figured how that story ended, hope everything's okay!?
So we play first, PROGRESS plays after us. Both of us are troubled with pretty quiet vocals, yet we enjoy ourselves and especially the show of our dutch mates.
We stay in the flat of Thom (PROGRESS' singer) and his girlfriend Tasja, have cats running across our sleeping bodies all night long and basically the greatest time ever.

Day 7 ROCK CAFE Leuven (BEL) 11. 9. 2008

WRITTENdiary:
Another Metal-Bar! The place is very small and really packed. The Skatepunk bands THE OCTOPUSSYS and STATE OF MINE open up and latter ones remind me of back in the day by playig a cover of Blink 182's „Josie" : )
There is no stage in the bar and the bands are playing right in front of the toilet entrance. Somebody takes a crap during our set and everybody in the club is able to smell it. People in the front rows vanish, some even blame it erroneously on me. Tztz.

Day 8 THE STONES CROSS Midsomer Norton (UK) 12. 9. 2008

Very small town, very british pub, lots of different people. Not really an average punk show crowd.
We watch some men playing pool and feel a little incongruous, up until DROPSHADOW, the other band playing that evening, arrive. They turn out to be really nice and the show works out pretty good as well after we fix some PA-problems. PLUS: I find some NOFX stuff in the jukebox!

Day 9 QUEENS HOTEL Weymouth (UK) 13. 9. 2008<

Nice Place. We play together with OK PILOT and DANCE PARTY!.
There's no sound techican showing up an we don't get the monitors working. Well, it's not like we're not used to playing without monitoring, huh? I don't feel so good about the show, but plenty of people tell us afterwards that they liked it.
After the show we go back to Bristol to stay at James' Place, just like the day before.

Day 10 DAY OFF Bristol (UK) 14. 9. 2008

We spend almost the entire day at James' flat, watching TV, playing video games and having a great time.
James plays by the way in a band called KILLED BY HOLLYWOOD and also kicks ass at guitar hero.

Day 11 THE JUNCTION Bristol (UK) 15. 9. 2008

Day 12 CAFE DEN VORTN VIS Ieper (BEL) 16. 9. 2008
Another Last Minute Show set up by Bert from THE IGNORED. We play together with X-STATE RIDE from Italy and SHORT ON TIME from Belgium.
The Venue is a really nice and small punk club. We open up and especially the italian guys turn out to be a kick-ass-dance-along-sing-along crowd. : ) They pretty much make it up for the small local crowd.
We spend the night at Bert's place and have a nice after party together with Clara and Daan who set up the show in Leuven a couple of days before and came out that night as well [harri: check the end of the Videodiary before ;)].

Day 13 ACU Utrecht (NL) 17. 9. 2008

I was looking forward to that show almost the entire tour. I've been at ACU once before back in November 07 when i was on the road together with Astpai. It's a really nice Cultural Center and a combination of a Veggie Restaurant and a Music Venue and the food you get there is just amazing.
We play together with DISLOCATED from the Netherlands who play a nice sort of rock'N'rolly Hardcore.
Tom, Matthias and Bert from SMASH THE STATUES are also there as well as their roadie Dirk, who we already met back in January in Austria. Dirk, who attends a film-college, shoots a video of our show.
After the show we hang out for a little while at the venue, where talk about prefering Minor Threat over the Dead Kennedys and imitate Arnold Schwarzenegger, before we head out to Dirk's flat where we stay for the night.

Day 14 DRUCKLUFT Oberhausen (GER) 18. 9. 2008

Another nice Jugendzentrum. We play together with THE ARGIES from Argentinia.
I miss out on watching the other guys partying, cause i go to bed pretty early. Ask them yourself, they probably have a better story on that evening than i have.
In the morning we enjoy having breakfast together with THE ARGIES and the venue's civil servant, before we move on to Hillentrup.

Day 15 ALTE PAPIERMÜHLE Hillentrup (GER) 19. 9. 2008

WRITTENdiary:
Infamous Hillentrup. Walli and I have both been there before, so we knew what there was to expect. A whole bunch of nice people are living there in a community and we knew that they always take good care of their guests.
We arrive way earlier than we agreed on and so we kill time by helping out in the kitchen, cooking chili. Delicious.
Other bands playing that evening are BURN PILOT and THE WIRES (a WIPERS cover band, or was is the other way around?)
Oh yeah, and we cover „I don't wanna hear it" again.
Afterwards people grab our instruments and do a jam session at around half past 2 or something.

Day 16 Some Bar in Prague (CZ) 20. 9. 2008

We we're originally supposed to play at MILADA SQUAT but the show was moved to a bar i can't remember the name of. Iggy Pop was playing the same night in Prague and so the promoter decided to put us together with the Belgian Post Rock Instrumental Band OW on a show, because they feared two shows seperately would not be well enough visited.
OW play first, we find out that they want the bands to at finished at 10pm. OW are done at 9.45
We build up as fast as we can, to top it all find out the vocal amplification doesn't work properly and play around 5 songs with fictive vocal amplification. We drive home the same night. Haha. What a bad ending for a pretty good trip : )
