Firstly I have to apologize for the lack of blogging going on on this site for the last few months, it must have seemed like all of a sudden we'd disappeared off the face of the earth... well I can assure you that's not the case.

Ironically it's the fact that I've been so busy doing all sorts of things that I just haven't had the time or the energy to write them up on here. So, now things have calmed down a little, I thought I'd write a short blog about what I have been up to over the past couple of months, just to catch up with things!

It was back in August when I did the last blog, after which I went to the V Festival in Chelmsford and then, the following weekend, Reading. Both of which I enjoyed, although I have to say that in my opinion Reading is far superior in pretty much all aspects. But, it does depend what you're after, it's certainly not as family orientated or 'easy' as V, but these are two things that aren't really in my priority list.

Unfortunately the next thing that happened was returning to work! This obviously took up a lot of my time, along with the fact that Level 4 were involved with the Village Green event organized by Metal, on the 27th September at Chalkwell Park. We had a stall there in the Market Place, and also had our own Poetry Bingo event at 3pm that afternoon. Much to my surprise it all went off amazingly well, and if you're wondering what exactly Poetry Bingo is, then come along to our next Lazy Sunday (early Feb, date tbc) as we're planning on doing another session.

Soon after this I spent a Sunday afternoon in Camden watching bands in the Proud Galleries, just at the back of Camden Market. This is actually well worth going to as it's free and has bands on all afternoon (in fact I think Redtrack are playing there quite soon so that may be one to pop along to). I discovered a new band that afternoon called Man Flu. They're slightly strange but actually really quite interesting! Look them up on MySpace, we're trying to get them down to a gig here at some point, so watch this space.

Then there was another Panic! night held in the basement of the Royal Hotel. Little Penguin, Sonic Slice, A Middle Sex, Temperatures, and my band, Breakneck Static. I really enjoyed all the bands that night, and had a good time playing!

Next was another London trip, this time to Madam JoJo's to see Japanese band Hatccu. Quite typical Japanese rock, but enjoyable.

Since then there have been various other gigs, Redtrack, Lions, Dartz (although I think I have this slightly out of order!), Picturesleeves, Decimals, and a few others whose names escape me, all of which have been great! Throw in a late summer trip to Cornwall, an evening at the Jazz night at The Smack, and a few other bits and pieces, and that brings us almost up to date.

A couple of weekends ago I attended the Nightmare Before Christmas All Tomorrow's Parties (at Butlins in Minehead), this time curated by The Melvins. Not many bands I knew, but Tweak Bird, Melvins, Fantomas, Boss Hog, The Damned and quite a few others made that a great weekend away too.

So, that's it. We've now got issue 3 of Level 4 done, so keep an eye out for that. And hopefully I'll be back blogging a little more regularly now.

Phew!
