Last week, leading up to a fantastic show we had with the funny and sexy chanteuse Candye Kane ( www.candyekane.com )- our friend Joe Burton told me that when he was promoting the show, everytime he mentioned that we were also performing with Candye he noticed a certain amount of eye-twinkling name recognition amongst the people with which he spoke. He said his Swiss South African friend called this phenomenon being a "Sausage Celebrity."

While I don't partake of animal-based sausage- I am rather obsessed with it as an inspiring and fun phallic food- you will know this if you have ever seen our "Weinerfest" act where we jump rope and get tied up in giant links of sausage. In addition to being pro-sausage in this respect, I love the Alps. And I love hairy men who groom their facial hair. I also love beer. So for all these reasons, naturally, I was ECSTATIC to be called a Sausage Celebrity. Here is the full description below- feel free to use this term liberally when talking about me....


"Please inform Ms. Little and her odious primate associate that the exact word is 'Cervelatprominenz' in (Swiss-)German. Cervelat (SERV-uh-laah) is a very popular (and cheap) type of sausage in Switzerland; it is short, fat and pink, and is a mainstay of outdoor barbecues in my old home land. Prominenz (Pro-mee-NENTS) refers to "celebrities" in general.

"So the full expression is pronounced as follows: 'SERV-uh-laah-pro-mee-NENTZ'
It is an expression only understood in Switzerland. 'Sausage celebrity' is the direct (verbatim) translation into English, but it has a rather nice ring to it, don't you agree?"
