The problem with being a recluse is that I don't get out much. Even going to my own gallery shows or film screenings seems to be a bother now days. The price of fame is not for the poor and unknown. We famous people do not want the commoners mucking about in our V.I.P. rooms, making a squalor of our parties and late night soirées. Nor do we wish to rub elbows with those that constantly say cheese for yet another myspace picture under the delusion that that scads of party pics posted online some how equates having a real life. But be that as it may I was able to summon the means to deploy one of my spies on August 15th of 2008 to attend the Bearded Child Film Festival in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He sent back these reconnaissance photos along with a report that reads in part "I've spent the money on super 8mm film stock and Grainbelt Beer. Request you wire transfer ten thousand dollars to my Nigerian bank account immediately if you ever want to see your precious ZomBEES film again." Well I can tell you I was shocked to say the least. That was the only print we have and film proccessing like everything else now days is expensive. Fortunatly for me thugs and brutes are a dime a dozen in this cold cruel world to turn a frase and my spy recieved a very thorough beating within hours of his unwarrantwed ransom-email. I found a message on my ansewering machine later that same day with a very weak wavering voice calling from his hospital bed talking about how there was a good sized crowd in attendance at the Bearded Child Film Festival this year and that our little film ZomBEES was well recieved. Then nothing not a word. Some time went by and I was beginning to wonder had I made a mistake was I too rough on the ol' boy but I did finally get my original 16mm print back in the post along with some tattered photographs of the event and just look at these wonderful pictures taken during the screening in Minneapolis you really do nice work with that camera of yours ol' boy, sorry about the broken legs Michael but you mess with Fred Wilder and you are sure to get stung.
