Current mood: awake
So I got a letter today from the Transportation Security Administration--specifically from the desk of the Deputy Director of the Office of Transportation Threat Assessment and Credentialing-- which is part of the Department of Homeland Security. I'll tell you, seeing the seal of the Dept. of Homeland Security on an envelope with you name on it with put you off a step. My first thought was, "Oh crap, I'm going to Guantanamo!" However, it seems that they have officially declared that I'm not a threat to national security. It took me a second to figure out that when I was hired to be a courier, obviously I'd have to pass a background check at some point. I guess 3 months is quick for the government nowadays. :-) At any rate, I am now officially not a security risk. It's kinda validating, in a way. I mean, I have a Security Threat Assessment ID number and everything! I can't tell you what it is, but I have one.
