So we got booked at Milwaukee Metal Fest this year and that's killer. What is not killer, or should i say who, is the festivals promoter Jack Koshick. This guy is a total douche bag that has been screwing metal bands for years now. And he has a virtual monopoly on the large metal festivals in America (as w/ everything else in america). Really the only major fest now thats not run by this prick in the NE Metal/Hardcore Fest in Worcester(That's why that festival is consistantly awesome w/ no bullshit). Here's some of the flattering comments Koshick has recieved from those he has dealt with:

    Koshick is a notorious rip off. In the old AC days he booked us to play that November to Dismember thing in Texas. He used our name on all the ads and promo. I know a bunch of kids got tickets because we were playing. Then, less than two weeks before the show, our plane tickets hadn't shown up yet. I tried to contact him to find out what was going on. He never responded. Then, one week before the showm our name was taken off the website. Basically he never had any intention of flying us out. He just used our name to sell tickets.He's done the same thing with several other bands too. Mostly European ones.

SEVEN WITCHES, the band featuring former SAVATAGE guitarist Jack Frost and ex-HELSTAR singer James Rivera, have issued the following press release regarding their dealings with well-known heavy metal concert promoter Jack Koshick (Milwaukee Metalfest, March Metal Meltdown):

"To date, SEVEN WITCHES has played three Koshick events, and until recently, was always treated well. However, following this year's Milwaukee debacle, several payment checks, including the one given WITCHES' mainman/guitarist Jack Frost, bounced. A call to the promoter promised a (guaranteed) money order within five days. Yet, after the specified timeframe, still no money. Worse yet, Koshick didn't return any of the 35 phone calls from Frost, or his attorney. 'If he had just picked up the phone,' explained Frost, 'told me he was broke, maybe we could work something out, like $100 a month or something. I hear we aren't the only ones out money.'

"[After Frost contacted the Milwaukee police] to lodge a formal complaint, [he got a phone call from Koshick], but rather than make good on the debt, Jack threatened Frost, his band and family. 'I just want people to know what kind of person they're dealing with,' explained Frost. 'He said, 'I know where you live. I've got some people that will come around and beat you up.' He said I don't have the balls to go to the press and tell everyone the truth! I'd heard the rumors, but now I know why people won't deal with him.'"

   John C. Koshick (a.k.a. Jack Koshick), organizer of several underground heavy metal festivals, including the long-running Milwaukee Metalfest, was reportedly served with court papers on Monday, April 19 in connection with a dispute over industrial rock band HELL ON EARTH's removal from the lineup of this year's Sun n' Steel Metalfest.

According to a posting on the band's web site, HELL ON EARTH hired a processor to "hunt down" Koshick (doing business as Jack Koshick Presents) 1,300 miles away as Koshick had avoided being served earlier in Florida by Pinellas County Deputies.

HELL ON EARTH are claiming that Koshick breached a contract signed by the band and the promoters insuring them a spot at the early March event, which included appearances by TESTAMENT, OBITUARY, PRONG and M.O.D., among many others.

Koshick initially claimed that HELL ON EARTH were dropped from the bill of Florida's Sun n' Steel Metalfest after "Baptists were calling (him) and complaining about (the band) performing at the show," according to a posting on the group's web site. However, Koshick was eventually "caught in his own web of lies after HELL ON EARTH's meeting with Pinellas Expo Center's General Manager John LaChance and Koshick. During the meeting, it was revealed that neither LaChance nor any Baptist Fundamentalists had any part in canceling the band as Koshick had claimed. It became apparent, for unknown reasons, Koshick alone had decided to breach the band's contract and cancel them from the show."

A representative for the band said, "HELL ON EARTH will have their day in court and Jack Koshick will be made an example of."
