The madness has begun. We all met up in Chicago where there was a brief reunion full of high fives and handshakes before taking our remaining flight to Portland. Upon arriving we were picked up by the lovely Heather and Sarah. Heather is a very talented piano player/singer/flautist/cello player and will be joining us on tour (her brother peter has been an efterklang staple for a long time now). She is also a fantastic cook and host!
The first day in Portland was spent mostly gathering loose ends together while Casper and I worked through some of the new songs and vocal parts. I think these new ones might be some of the best efterklang songs yet.
To our shock and surprise Mad's discovered that somewhere between Copenhagen and Portland his MPC sampler mysteriously disappeared from his road case. It is suspected that there might have been some foul play as the case was last seen in the hands of two mysteriously accented men carrying a bunch of bags from customs dressed in airport uniforms. Luckily, there is always Guitar Center
The past few days have been marked by some squeeks and squabbles and a little bit of brilliance but everything is starting to come together perfectly. I think its going to be a good tour.
This is the rehearsal space / recording studio / venue / slash art gallery in Portland where we are rehearsing.

Here Thomas is administering a traditional danish dog blessing, a tradition dating back hundreds of years.
