Another sxsw done and gone. exhausted and blissfully happy. some highlights:
meeting
Doseone (subtle, themselves, cLOUDDEAD, 13 & God, etc, etc, etc) who is quite possibly the nicest man in showbiz.
Seeing
Sam Amidon play a beautifully comic performance on the 18th floor of a Hilton hotel.
Discovering my new favorite group at the Danish Day Party,
Oh Land. A Danish, former ballerina, complete with background singers singing 1940s harmonies over Matmosesque beats. Genius. (They're opening for the Efterklang show in NYC so come early).
Watching Daniel Johnston play with a 16 piece band doing a cover of "Live and Let Die".
And finally sitting in traffic trying to leave the festival late saturday night and watching as 4 cops (in shorts) run out into the highway brandishing assault rifles and trying unsuccessfully arrest someone in a white cadillac. parting is such sweet sorrow.
The Light
