Current mood: crunk
Hello people!
So I'm here with a little bit of free time on my hands, thinking about how long it's been since I've interacted with some of the people who have been the most supportive of me & my musical pursuits in times past: my MySpace friends. Some of you I talk to all the time, so we're already in the habit of sharing all the little things that make our lives interesting. Others have had really kind things to say when I've posted songs, news & accomplishments, despite the fact that they probably don't know me very well, (or at all). Unfortunately, I don't know much about the second group either, but I've always appreciated their brand of anonymous kindness. After all, it's pretty cool to receive a compliment from a stranger. Either way, I hope everyone's happy in their lives, (at least to some degree), and keeping their heads above water.
Me? I've been in a transitional phase over the last few months and with my movement towards new personal territory has come a shifting of my musical goals. Since I now live in a far away, foreign land where the native dialect is both harsh & strange, (it's called New Jersey - look it up on a map), I've had to set aside things like recording my own new material in favor of others, (like writing, producing and recording for clients). Hey, we all gotta eat, right?
To sum it up, I probably won't be performing or recording much of my own stuff for a little while - my BFF/collaborator, musician buddies & go-to studio are like far and stuff - but I'm still gonna write & produce like a beast here in Joisey. That's the trade off I made to be able to wake up next to the love of my life every morning and I'd make it again in a heartbeat. In the mean time, I'm posting 2 new songs that I got to finish before I left: Just Wanna Be and Lady Luck. I'm gonna leave them them up as free downloads for a little while, so if you like 'em, be my guest and go nuts. I just wanted to feel somewhat productive and put my newer stuff out there before I get back to working on other projects. I'm also kinda proud of the performance & production strides we've made at Ear Candy. As always, comments are welcome.
Be good, (to each other),
Alex
