Current mood:  adored

AWESOME was the word of the weekend...along with fantastic, great, amazing, magnificent and fabulous but the word Awesome stands out from the rest due to reasons that i'm not allowed to disclose otherwise i will open pandora's box and raise hell! But we are thankful for this individual for making this an interesting weekend for the band...not to mention the misadventures that goes along with it!

Ani-Jam was a good experience for us since this was the first out of town gig for the band, I mean don't get me wrong we are pros here! ( i should quit my day job) and some of the players in this band had the passed experiences of playing out of town shows and what not but still everything is always a first time for me...you know that feeling of anticipation of how things will play out and will it be worth it for us driving 300+ miles just to play a show.

Friday night around 11ish we headed out, we were suppose to leave at 8pm but the freaking car rental place was giving us a hard time renting two cars...but that was taken cared of...so we were on the road out in the middle of nowhere passing from town to town smelling the cow dung! We thought it was one of our guitarist who farted a dirty bomb!!...I was like is this gonna end or what?! Thankfully it did after we inhaled everything! LOL...so now we know where Cali gets their cheese!...And we had to take my friend's friend's cat ( i'm allergic to cats fortunately it was in the other car), can't complain about it though coz that took care of the car rental...thanks Jen let's do it again...I'm thinkin a little bit smaller say a Parakeet?..and my best bud driving the transport car, the dreamy-eyed Romeo wished he was some place else SPOONING with someone rather than driving...hey! don't look up at the stars man! eyes on the road buddy! Well sure enough he got what he wanted when we got there! LOL! Way to go Mr Spoonman!

Thank God! we got there safely at the Raddison around 2am saturday morning...arrival was early as anticipated...we still have at least 6 hours of sleep before soundcheck and the show....i don't want to tell all the details what happen after we checked in cause it will take me forever to write everything down...but to summarize that....my buddy got his wish spooning with someone...I was left all alone in one bed cause everybody got scared of sleeping beside me which i had no regrets...i can rest comfortably thank you very much! so 5 people had to sleep on a queen size bed...well the lovebirds liked it a lot...they were stuck like glue to each other and they needed that tight space to be more touchy and cuddly with each other! Talk about quality time! You lovebirds owe me one!  With that said we only had 3 hours of sleep!

Saturday...Soundcheck was at 9am and show was at 10am.... the setup was to play after the opening ceremony but the show was moved up to 11am which was fine for us obviously it gave us an extra hour to prep and get myself more energy to play a full hour set! after a cup of mickey dees coffee and a Red bull i was deliriously fine. Soundcheck was great the sound guy Paul was undoubtedly good thanks to his 3 tour experience with Deep Purple he understood what we need on stage and out...

Then it was showtime...nerves were rattling and i had mixed emotions it felt like it was my first time again! but after the first hit on my drum kit it just came back naturally as if it was part of me...and as soon as the guitars screamed beggin for mercy and the bass rambling like a tank... it felt perfect....i was like awesome! well thanks to our friend who made awesome a totally different meaning!  You guys are awesome!
Encore...I thought i was gonna pass out after the last song but we had to do one more song which was killing me...so i had to call upon the gods that gives you wings! Red Bull please don't fail me now! Sure Enough the gods answered my call and we were rocking out harder!
The audience was great and responded pretty well...Thank You Fresno! You guys  were awesome!

Sunday the next day was pretty laid back for everybody...woke up early and went tv surfin' then went downstairs to soak my aching muscles in the jacuzzi...that was relaxing! and did a few laps in the pool...then i went with my buddy and checked out the vendors and see what's up...Unexpectedly I got a collector's Astroboy action figure for 8 bucks! What a steal!  At lunch i showed it to guys!
It was then time to say goodbye...

Thank you to all the people who stayed throughout the show and especially to our new found friend Anton! Thanks Bud! Your Dad Rocks! Hope to see you and your dad again! Rock Hard!

We would like to thank Ray (See you in two weeks at Nisei Festival!) and to James and his family for putting this all together...you did a great job man! and the rest of the Ani Jam Staff...YOU GUYS ROCK! Thanks for making us comfortable while we were there! See you guys next year or sooner!

And I would like to end this blog (i just realized that this is the first time our band made a blog) with a thought phrase from one of my heroes and influences in life....

Friedrich Nietzche about Will to Power....
"Suppose nothing else were "given" as real except our world of desires and passions, and we could not get down, or up, to any other "reality" besides the reality of our  drives- - -for thinking is merely a relation of these drives to each other: is it not permitted to make the experiment and to ask the question whether this "given" would not be sufficient for also understanding on the basis of this kind of thing the so-called mechanistic (or "material") world?"

til the next Makenai adventure!

Horns up and Rock Hard!

Peace Out!
