As some of you may have already noticed, the Shorthrow myspace site has had a recent make over. Well, here's what's going on. Shorthrow is in the process of making a return. That's right, A RETURN!! There's been a slight line up change as well. For those that don't already know, I'm sorry to say that Chad Fisher and Jody Ashley are no longer in the band. They both have their reasons for leaving and all I can say is that I wish them both the best or luck with their new projects and no hard feelings.
Anyways, back to the subject at hand, SHORTHROW!!! As I mentioned before there has been line up change. Dustin Stone, and I (Richie) are still hanging in there and are happy to introduce our new members. Chris Kennedy, SKEETER, has jumped in to fill in the guitar duties. Kennedy and I have known each other from all the way back to the WVSC drum line days. Chris was once a member of the band SYPHTER. Taking the roll of bass player is our boy Spider. Yeah, the name may fool ya, but he's a bad motha on bass. We all had the opportunity to meet Spider for the first time about two months ago. For some of you older farts, Spider used to play bass for the band Sister Kill Cycle. OK, last but not least, vocals. This is the job was the one that I was most worried about finding someone to fill. But then I met our savior, Chris Young, that was more than happy to step in and take the responsibility. Chris is one of those, "back in the day", sons-a-bitches. LOL Some of you may already know him, some may not. But either way, you'll get your chance.
I've had several opportunities to jam with these guys and to hang out with them. Music wise, OMG!!! I can't wait to get out and play some shows with these guys. I know alot of you out there reading this may be saying to yourself, "It's just not going to be the same as it was." and you are 100% right. We're not in anyway trying to duplicate our old sound. This is a new beginning for Shorthrow. I realize that we might end up loosing some of our more loyal fans that don't want a change. All that I ask is for you to give it a chance before you go making a judgement call like that, please.
Just keeping checking in for any new band info, shows and pics. I hope that when we get our shit together and book some shows that I will see the same wonderful faces, that we've had the privilege of, playing for again. I can't wait to see you all again. Thank you.
