"When Alice In Chains broke onto the scene they sent shivers around the rock community and when Stone Temple Pilots did the same and Smashing Pumpkins quickly followed suit, many thought that Rock music had seen it’s fare share of new sounds and the likes of the bands mentioned above couldn’t be repeated.  But time and time again rock music still finds new bands bring something different to the genre.  One band that are verging on that similar plain are US Hard Rockers Noxious.
 
Following the bands mini album ‘Revilutia’, the band started to make waves in their native US and now venture forth with their latest full length opus ‘Timbre’.  The band have turned down the volume and reinvented themselves with a more soulful Hard Rock sound very much in the vein of Alice In Chains.

The album boasts some revamped songs from their 'Revilutia' mini album and made them very soulful.  ‘Broken’ and ‘Fishbowl are very different animals indeed and it's these new tracks that really fit into this new sound the band are going for and I can only say that this definitely seems to me to be a step in the right direction for the band if they want to progress in appeal to a wider audience than before.

Real tracks of note have to be the two new versions of 'Broken' and 'Fishbowl', as well as the superb southern backyard porch blues of ‘Long Hard Road’, which just oozes class while still showing the band haven’t fully abandoned their roots with the thumping dark vibe of ‘Destructist’.

It's not that 'Revitutia' is a bad introduction to the band but 'Timbre' has much more commercial viability about it and will stand the band in good stead for the future and as I said before this is definitely the way to go sound wise."
