It's been an emotional roller coaster over these past two days!
Let's start from the beginning if you don't mind:
Yesterday (Thursday):
We woke up to find a large number of people had downloaded our album over the course of the night. We had no idea why this was happening but we were amused and somewhat bewildered as to why and how that large of a group of people found a secret page that had been used on our last tour for promotions. This tour happened to be an Armed Forces Entertainment Tour (hence the AFEtour in leaked link URL) for the troops stationed in Japan and the South Pacific.
As the day went on we started getting many comments on Myspace from people saying that Incubus had turned them on to us. After hearing this we were ecstatic but still completely in the dark as to what was going on. Later on that day the mood turned abruptly as we started getting tons hate mail claiming that we hacked Incubus' profile. It was then that we discovered that Incubus had released a bulletin that claimed that hackers (implying someone in our organization) had gotten into their page and used it to promote ourselves. Shortly thereafter we released our view of the events via a bulletin which read:

Incubus Clarification
It has come to our attention that a bulletin was posted about us on Incubus' Myspace page. At first we were flattered but as it turns out according to them, they had nothing to do with this posting. We can only assume that an over zealous fan of ours under the assumption they were doing us a favor, posted a link to a secret website we used on our last tour for promotions. Unfortunately it crashed our entire web server and clogged our email box. We have ourselves been Incubus fans for years and sorry for any confusion.
For those of you who got a free album out of the ordeal...we hope you enjoy it.

People who received this bulletin/response were happy to hear that we didn't partake in any deliberate hacking and the hate mail subsided.
Flash forward to today (Friday).....
We woke up this morning and as we were busy replying to many messages in the wake of the prior days events, our Myspace account was abruptly deleted without any notice or warning. As we learned later, they were under the impression that we were responsible for getting into Incubus' site and exploiting it for our own benefit. Needless to say, none of us would be so reckless as to willingly hack an account and get into a situation like this! We've spent almost the entire day working with Incubus' management and Myspace in order to get this situation resolved and we're happy to report that as of several hours ago it has been. Sorry for the length of this response, it probably wasn't what you were bargaining for but you've definitely got the whole unabridged version of events!
To make a ridiculously long story short, an over zealous fan of ours got into Incubus' account and sent out a bulletin about us, our account was deleted and after a full day of work, our names (as well as our Myspace page) have been restored to its previous glory. We would like to thank Incubus, Ren Management & Myspace for their understanding and taking extraordinary measures in helping us out in this surreal experience.
