I hope you are doing well. Well, to answer your question, a lot has happend in '07 in every aspect of life; sports, music, entertainment and politics. It's really hard to pick out something that stood out. But, since I am a huge sports fan, I will have to speak on sports. I think the thing that has stood out for me in '07 was the SuperBowl between the Colts and Bears. This SuperBowl made history because it was the first time ever that two black head coaches led their teams to the SuperBowl game. I really didn't care who won the game. I was really proud to see two black coaches coaching in the biggest game of the year. It was indeed a very proud moment in our history. To me, that was the greatest moment in a year that was crazy in many respects in the world of sports.

2007 was a heck a year for African-Americans. Tony Dungy to "The Jena 6". Blacks were bombarded with all kinds of injustices coming at us, but we stood tall and strong. Micheal Vick, Genarlow Wilson, Rutgers, "nooses", etc..,. Countless of other newsworthy items I could list here but won't. (do your own homework). Here we come "08"!!

i forgot to mention that anucha browne kicked ass when she won her case against the knicks. many of us women love hiphop and basketball but the treatment can be terrible especially when you just want to do your job or be a fan. i can speak first hand, having worked in the music industry, to the demeaning comments i've endured from executives and artists alike. the same goes for sports. women have been fighting the old boys' network for a long time. i'm glad justice was served when she was called a bitch by a man who's supposed to look out. there are not many of us in those upper echelons of entertainment. peace.

Which tv reality show was your guilty pleasure? i am so surprised to say this but gotti's way got me. they are real people and his wife don't play. don't tell anybody:)! not just because it's your page the salt n pepa show is real. especially the one where you talk about your place in the group. and pepa is just straight up entertaining. the salt n pepa show is the only show i've seen where entertainers made a point of marching in jena on tv. i'm mad at i love new york. but i'm not mad. that show is the real guilty pleasure. oh and the kimora simmons show is a learning experience:) for anyone interested in the business side of hiphop retail and party planning.

I must say the best CD for me was Talib Kweli/Eardrum was the one for me in hop hop and Jill Scott/the Real Thing did it for me in the easy listening category.

As for who kicked ass, I have to say Tyler Perry. The man is taking the world by storm and mind you his audience is everyone. Not too many blacks have that in common; he gives inspiration that we can be universal.
Who blew up? I would say the Chris Brown. That youngster has his hand in everything and he is still rising.

The reality TV show that was for me was the Bad Girls Club. I know they are the worst females to be representing, but it gives laughs.

When I think of 2007 I think about Tony Dungy leading the Indianapolis Colts to the Super Bowl and becoming the first black coach to win the Super Bowl. Bill Walsh dying of leukemia. Soulja Boy, Bush, and Jay-Z need to sit their bitch-ass down somewhere. The Virginia Tech shooting was a tragic event last year. Don Imus calling the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hoes." It just prove that racism in America and around the world will always exist until the end of time. O.J. Simpson played hisself. He needs to be easy before he goes to prison. I liked UGK and Alicia Keys' albums. Alicia needs to win a Grammy for "Like You'll Never See Me Again" that is a beautiful song. I wish that E-40 would have came out with his new album in 2007, but I guess I will have to wait until 2008. Ike Turner and Pimp C of UGK dying. Rest in peace.
