On 25th November we had Anne Adams as our special guest. She runs a folk-club in Stourbridge,West Midlands called Crystal Folk Club. Their web address is:

On her website she gave an account of her experience of being a special guest at our club. It reads as follows:

"On Sunday(25th November) we made the trek to the Station pub,Station Street,Sutton Coldfield: home of the "Jug Of Punch Folk Club" which runs on the last Sunday of each month. We were accompanied by Sue Stevens from the Lighthouse Folk Club, who was hoping to get a floor spot. We didn't know what to expect,as we had never visited the club before. The Station pub would seem to be a Victorian establishment. It's large, airy, sparsely furnished and sells a good range of guest beers. The folk club was held in an upstairs room which had recently been decorated in an entirely different style to downstairs. Some would say it was in the "Fanny Hill" style with its luxurious reds, deep armchairs, drapes, subdued lighting and wooden floor. Not at all what we expected, and it was warm. Not the usual folk-club experience.

The event was quite well attended, more audience than performers and we were made very welcome by the organisers.

The proceedings began with floor spots from Joe Lee,Sue and Nick,Margaret and Des(making their debut as a duo),Doreen and John. Anne then performed a 45 minute set of songs, after which there was an interval. The second part of the evening began with more floor spots. Then Anne did another 45 minute set of songs. The sets were very well received. The evening finished promptly at 11pm(the landlord evidently doesn't want people hanging around much after then). We would like to thank the organisers for a very pleasant evening and the audience for their appreciation. We would recommend a visit to the Jug Of Punch Folk Club if you are in the area."

Since then Sue and Nick have been invited to be our special guests on Sunday 29th June.
